We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Olson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mary, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I just recently started my jewelry business in August of 2021, and it’s been something I’ve wanted to do since I’ve always been into jewelry, especially rings. When I first started making spoon rings I was super excited since I was able to combine my passion for jewelry with my love for shopping at antique stores, where I buy silverware to make into rings.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m still new at running a small business, especially as a young entrepreneur trying to manage school and other activities. Most of my time I spend on my business involves taking photos, making rings, and doing all of the behind the scenes for my website and instagram.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some local spots I love to go to are hiking nearby in the Superstition Mountains, antique shopping and Mesa and eating out at some of the cool restaurants in Downtown Gilbert.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to thank my parents for all the support they have given me as I’ve pursued starting my business, I couldn’t have done it without them. 🙂
