Meet Max Weinman | Singer/Songwriter & Pianist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Max Weinman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Max, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose a music career because I felt that it was my calling. I began writing songs and learning covers at age 15 and I’d perform them at local venues and the feeling I got from that was unlike anything I’d ever felt before, and so I chose to run with it and keep pursuing my music because it’s what I truly believe in.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a 21 year old retro-inspired singer/songwriter influenced by the music of the 60’s and 70’s. My style is similar to that of Billy Joel, Elton John and The Beatles to name a few. Something that sets me apart from the others would be that I’m self taught at piano and I’ve been singing since I’m 4 years old. I am so excited and proud that my debut album self-titled “Max Weinman” is finally out after years of writing and recording! I plan to play lots of shows to promote it as well! It’s funny to think that I started playing piano at 15 years old, began learning cover songs and then eventually writing my own songs then fast-forward to now when I’ve just released my first album! I guess one challenge I’ve overcome is stage fright but the more you get on stage the less you feel it plus the second I start singing the nerves go away.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well some of my favorite music venues are The Crescent Ballroom, Sozo Coffeehouse, The Nash, Rebel Lounge, The Rhythm Room etc. some of my favorite places to hangout are Downtown Gilbert, Downtown Mesa and Downtown Phoenix cause there is lots of cool history and old architecture and great bars and restaurants.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to thank my parents for always believing in me and helping me along the way in my career. They’ve helped me get to gigs, record my album, and even manage my career. Without them I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today.
