We had the good fortune of connecting with Meghann Jacobs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meghann, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I first learned about Cyclical Living and the fact that women’s hormones operate on a 28 day cycle, similar to the Lunar cycle, I was astonished. It helped me come to a deep understanding of why so many women feel out of sorts in a society based on the circadian rhythms of a 24 hour clock.

One of my greatest passions and skills is sharing wisdom with others. Out of a drive to help other women find balance and ease in their lives through feminine embodiment practices I found that I could easily apply my training, education, previous life experience and nearly 20 years of classroom experience to supporting women in liberating themselves from the kind of stagnancy I had come to know in my former life.

What should our readers know about your business?
Sonora Sol Embodied Living creates safe spaces for women to come back home to the innate wisdom of their own body through Women’s Circles, Feminine Embodiment practices and somatic Womb Healing. My goal as a women’s wellness leader is to give power back to women by not only educating them, but also helping them learn to feel safe inside their body and develop a deeply connected relationship with the only vessel they’ll have in this lifetime. It’s extremely important to me that women learn how very capable their bodies are of healing, once they understand their own natural rhythms and learn how to tune into the messages their body holds. Womb Healing is not something I set out to do in the beginning. However, it quickly became clear to me what a great need there is for women to have a safe place to share their trials and traumas, and a way to connect to the deeper meaning of their suffering. I pride myself in being a healer that women have come to know as someone who they can trust and who can help them feel seen and understood.
I wouldn’t be able to serve the amazing women I am today if it wasn’t for my community. Becoming a female entrepreneur has been one of the most fulfilling achievements of my life. Being able to support other women’s businesses, collaborate on projects to bring our gifts forward- together, is amazing. I love every aspect of the work I do, both behind the scenes and the services I provide to my community. However, I can’t say any of it is easy!
What makes it possible though, is the kindness and willingness of others who’ve gone before me to share their secrets and support me along the way. I was listening to marketing podcasts and digesting free content from experts years before I ever took the leap into entrepreneurship myself. I was always so impressed with how much other women were willing to share in order to help others on their journey. Now I get it. It’s one of the most powerful things we can do to share what we’ve learned and promote each other’s businesses, spreading the love wherever we can.
The greatest lesson I’ve learned so far is to be patient. Honing your craft and becoming known for great work takes time. I’m so passionate about the work I am here to do that at times I can forget I have my whole life to deliver my goods.
Sonora Sol Embodied Living is a project with collective healing at heart. She was birthed out of my desire to help other women move out of the shadows of their own shame and guilt by being vulnerable and seeking connection. I spent too many years hiding out myself as a new mom with an imperfect life, and that wasn’t helping me or my kids. Sonora Sol is about ushering in a new wave of feminine strength, showing compassion for our humanity and celebrating and protecting our uniqueness.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oooh, a whole week, let’s go! Let’s start with Flagstaff’s Sunday Market where we’d get to sample some of the greatest local small eateries and bakeries. We’d connect with all my local business owner pals, buy some cute hand made goods and be on our way with happy hearts and full bellies. Next we’d head out to Aspen Corner with our local snacks to hike around the mountain waiting for a killer sunset off the Peaks. Throughout the week we’d hit Macy’s for the best locally roasted coffee and sweetest baristas in town, MartAnne’s for the best Día de los Muertos art (and chilaquiles!), Late for the Train for more delicious coffee and Mozelle’s for fun pastries. This being a summer visit, we’d pop into the town square at night for a free latin dance lesson or maybe a free music event followed by ice cream from the Sweet Shoppe. We’d have to hit the Museum of Northern AZ and Lowell Observatory for some proper Pluto history. And lastly, there would be a trip out to Sunset Crater and Wupatki National Monument.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I love this question! Collaboration and sharing the love is what it’s all about. I routinely highlight the following women in my work, as their dedication to women’s health and empowerment has been crucial to the development of my own skills and ability to bring women together in wisdom sharing circles and embodiment practices:

Dr. Aviva Romm is a cutting edge MD, as well as a Midwife, and has given me a wealth of women’s health and advocacy knowledge through her free podcasts and text worthy books. I share her work with all of my clients!

Dr. Tererai Trent, author of Awakened Woman, taught me how to connect with Mother Earth and listen to the whispers of my ancestors, guiding me forward and helping me to align with my purpose.

Kim Anami, Sexual Savant and Vaginal Weight Lifter, has provided me with countless practices to expand my repertoire of somatic practices for opening to the Divine.

In Flagstaff, Kristen Pearson of Flagstaff Doulas has been an excellent mentor and support in getting my practice started and providing Sonora Sol Embodied Living with a space to grow.

The women of the Flagstaff Birth Collective have also been a huge support in helping me to establish myself as a Feminine Embodiment practitioner.
