We had the good fortune of connecting with Micaela Simon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Micaela, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Thought process of starting our own business was to provide quality non stigmatized health care where patient’s and their families can come feel welcomed and heard.

As providers for the LGBTQ community we understood that needs were not being met to this patient population, and that offering a safe place to receive quality care would be wildly successful.

What should our readers know about your business?
We started off with the well family care family medicine practice in Tempe Arizona to meet the needs of the LGBTQ plus community and their families. With our model of patient centered care customer service and health promotion and disease prevention we grew exponentially and recently embarked on a partnership with Walgreens to open our first sexual health clinic in Central Phoenix.
Convivence of being located within Walgreens Be Well Health will focus on sexual health, Services will include STI testing and treatment, HIV treatment, prevention, PrEP, PEP, , Doxy-PEP and contraception counseling and management.
We are proud of the continued support the community to support our practice and the fact that as Nurse Practitioners we were able to own and operate a successful medical practice.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Phoenix area has so much to do and so many areas of interests for anyone.

When ever I host anyone coming into town hiking is definitely on the list. There are so many great hiking spots my favorite is Camelback or Piewesta Peak. After working up in appetite head-on over to the outdoor patio Chelsea’s kitchen or any outdoor patio if it is not in the summer.

The Phoenix art museum in her new CMR also wonderful examples of how Phoenix really show cases the arts.

Thing cannot forget Sunday a drag brunch that many local establishments host and of course can forget dancing at the Womack, always a good time.
