Hi Mikayla, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
My perspective on work-life balance has shifted drastically over the last year. On a venture to come up with the most efficient and sustainable routine, I learned how vital having a work-life balance truly is.

In the fast-paced world we live in, the concept of work-life balance has become increasingly significant for my overall well-being. After struggling for many years with my health, I came to the realization that my work life balance had everything to do with my mental and physical wellbeing. Since coming to this realization, my perspective has undergone a profound transformation. Initially, I found myself engulfed in a relentless pursuit of productivity, sacrificing personal time and neglecting the importance of leisure. While this continuous “productivity” felt satisfactory, my approach ultimately led to burnout, prompting a reevaluation of my priorities.

As I embarked on a quest to devise the most efficient and sustainable routine, I was struck with a realization. Harmonious work-life balance is not a luxury but an absolute necessity. It is the cornerstone of a fulfilling and resilient life. I discovered that setting clear boundaries was paramount in achieving this equilibrium. By setting specific working hours, establishing communication norms, prioritizing my health, and learning to say ‘no’ when necessary, I regained control over my time and energy.

This journey has underscored the vitality of self-care and personal rejuvenation. Incorporating intentional breaks, engaging in hobbies, exercising, and nurturing social connections have become non-negotiable elements of my routine! Striking this balance has not only enhanced my professional performance but has also revitalized my personal life. In essence, the evolution of my perspective on work-life balance has been transformative, emphasizing the importance of a holistic approach to success and well-being.

Hand-stamping refers to the process of using metal stamps and enamels to impress designs, letters, or patterns onto metal surfaces. This technique allows artisans, like myself, to create personalized and intricate details on metal pieces, such as pet tags or accessories. The metal stamping process, which entails using a hammer and steel stamp to transfer the design onto the metal, adds a unique and handcrafted touch to each piece. What distinguishes us is the customized touch we bring to every design, ensuring that each tag is a meaningful representation of the bond between pets and their owners. Our commitment to excellence in craftsmanship has garnered us a loyal customer base who appreciate the distinctive and heartfelt nature of our products.

The journey to establishing and growing our business has been a profound learning experience. One of the key lessons has been the importance of adaptability. Rustwater Kitchen & Taproom located in Fairfield welcomes visitors for a leisurely lunch. Sipping on refreshing beers, we love to indulge in tasty bites and soak in the laid-back ambiance in their dog friendly, outdoor seating. The fancy fries are must try!
The Davis California Arboretum Trail is a serene haven of nature, offering a tranquil escape. The winding paths lead through picturesque landscapes, perfect for a leisurely walk or bike ride. Making it one of our favorite places to explore.

In both my personal life and business endeavors, my boyfriend Darren stands out as an unwavering pillar of support. His commitment goes beyond the ordinary, extending from assisting with mundane tasks like mail drop-offs to actively participating in the creative process of my business. One of the invaluable aspects of our collaboration is his willingness to accompany me on shopping trips for supplies. His keen eye and practical insights have considerably contributed to the overall efficiency of my business operations.

When it comes to events, Darren is more than just a helping hand – he’s a dedicated partner. From seamlessly running our booth to brainstorming innovative tag designs, his creative input has been instrumental in elevating the appeal of our products.
