Meet Mikey Ray | Hip Hop Artist & Entertainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mikey Ray and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mikey, what principle do you value most?
Loyalty. Loyalty is one of the principles I value most. I’ve had people all throughout my life, from friends to family to girlfriends to acquaintances all move different on me. A lot of the people I used to have in my life always faked support or wouldn’t show up when I needed them most like I would for them. That is why loyalty is most cherished in my eyes.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a hip hop artist, rapper, promoter, event coordinator, and overall an entertainer. I make hip hop and rap music in my home studio. I’ve put a lot of my own money up to get to where I am today in my journey as an artist. I have a drive that is unwavering and unmatched. No matter the obstacle thrown at me, I am able to adapt and think quickly on my feet. My path has been far from easy. Being screwed out of getting paid for events, venues canceling on us last minute, self funding an out of state tour, the list goes on. Some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way are; if you want something done right, do it yourself. A lot of the times the risk is worth taking. At the end of the day, bet on yourself, you’re worth it and will most likely succeed at whatever you put your mind to. I want the world to know that my name is Mikey Ray, I’m apart of the rap group called Emerald WavZ, and we are going to do everything everyone said we couldn’t.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start the week off showing them around the metro parks. Dope areas with some cool nature scenery and a cool place to smoke. Bar hopping in downtown Cleveland is always a good time. I would definitely want to take them to a Browns game. Nothing like watching Cleveland football in the dawg pound. Could always hit a rage room or do some axe throwing. There’s always something to do around my area because I’m only a 30 minute drive away from the surrounding cities.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to shout out my team, Emerald WavZ and all of our supporters. The team helps push me to do bigger and better things. Our supporters are literally why we keep doing what we are, and will be one of the main reasons why we see success in the music industry. So shout out to the team Emerald WavZ, and a huge shoutout to all of our fans and supporters. We love y’all.
