We had the good fortune of connecting with Monique Hayward and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Monique, what do you attribute your success to?
DRISCOLL Cuisine & Cocktail Concepts is relentless when it comes to hospitality. Co-Founder & President Brian Driscoll is trained in the Japanese hospitality tradition of “omotenashi,” which places a unique emphasis on anticipating guests’ needs and being selfless in service delivery. That has been the key to our success for our personal chef company as we have set out to redefine in-home dining as classy, contemporary, and creative affairs with highly personalized, memorable, and engaging experiences.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
DRISCOLL Cuisine & Cocktail Concepts is a highly-rated personal chef company in the Phoenix metro area. We create an atmosphere and experience for small, intimate celebrations and special occasions in your home that rival what you’d get at top restaurants. In short, we offer a variety of service options, including multi-course dinners with wine pairings, small plates and appetizers with cocktails, family-style dinner, and brunch. We also offer cooking demonstrations and work with clients on corporate parties and special events.
Our network of experienced, award-winning chefs, servers, and bartenders sets DRISCOLL Cuisine & Cocktail Concepts apart from other personal chef services. These artists create a “palette for the palate” of classy, contemporary, cool, and creative food and beverages that they exclusively tailor for each client. We deliver above-and-beyond service and build long-term relationships with our clients. We’re proud of our 100-percent five-star ratings on Google and Yelp. That’s the testimony for our passion about this business and the experience we want our clients to enjoy when they work with us.
We’re excited and optimistic about the future as more people are starting to travel again and choose Phoenix as a vacation destination. We also are seeing our locals think outside the restaurant “box” and discover the joys and advantages of an in-home dining experience. We’re fond of saying, “Your home is your new favorite restaurant.”
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As I actually live in the Portland, Oregon metro area, Phoenix has become my “home away from home” since co-founding DRISCOLL Cuisine & Cocktail Concepts in June 2019. I’m in town fairly often and have several spots where I like to go:
Restaurants: A few of my favorites are Sel, Barrio Queen, Francine, Citizen Public House, Glai Baan, Hush Public House, and Arrowhead Grill.
Cocktails: I love a good craft cocktail from Platform 18 at Century Grand, Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour, and Artizen at the Camby.
Hotels: Phoenix has phenomenal hotels! I absolutely love the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass, ADERO Scottsdale, Camby, W Scottsdale, Sheraton Desert Oasis, Phoenician, and Westin Kierland Resort & Spa.
Spas: When I’m in Phoenix, I try to hit the spa for some rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation. At the top of my list are the Spa at the ADERO, Aji Spa at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass, and Tierra Luna Spa at the Arizona Biltmore.
Day Trip to Sedona: When I can spare the time, I love to get up early and hit the road to Sedona for a day trip. What a uniquely beautiful place! I love the eclectic vibe of the boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, bars, and other attractions.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Deborah Polite, my mom. She’s my #1 fan who has always encouraged me to follow my passions and has shared her infinite wisdom and counsel throughout my life to help me achieve my goals.
