We had the good fortune of connecting with Mr.Ea$t and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mr.Ea$t, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was never just about making music—it was about building something bigger than myself. From an early age, I knew I wanted to create, innovate, and inspire. Growing up in a Jamaican-American household in Queens, New York, I was surrounded by a culture rich in art, rhythm, and expression. That environment fueled my love for music, design, and technology, setting the stage for my journey. At first, I pursued IT studies in college, but my passion for creativity always pulled me in another direction. Determined to make my mark, I moved to Atlanta for a while, sharpening my industry connections and refining my production skills. That experience opened new doors, allowing me to expand beyond just music into sound design, fashion, graphic design, and even IT support for fellow creatives. Now based in Arizona, I’ve taken my vision to new heights, seamlessly merging my music with fashion and other creative ventures. I’m not afraid to push boundaries—that’s why I dropped Alien OG, a single that not only made waves but also inspired the launch of my own cannabis strain under the same name. Moves like these embody my entrepreneurial spirit and my mission to explore new forms of expression. My music catalog speaks for itself, showcasing my versatility and commitment to storytelling. From Orange Sky (ft. Donta Young) and Drug Love (ft. Grammy-nominated Tasha Catour) to For the Love of Money (ft. the legendary Sean P of Pymp Tyte), Day Ones (ft. Talented Dayvia), UnTeachable (ft. Chavo and Keyiara), and Love On Read (ft. LeoBre and Baby Twan), every track is a piece of my journey. Producing these songs allows me to craft a sound that is both authentic and evolving, a direct reflection of my growth as an artist. But beyond the music, I’ve built my brand around orange—not just as a color, but as a mindset. Orange represents energy, creativity, and ambition. It’s bold, impossible to ignore, and full of life—just like my movement. For me, painting the world orange is about standing out, being fearless, and creating something unforgettable. Through strategic social media engagement, I’ve turned this vision into a reality, building a brand that speaks to my audience in a way that is both visual and emotional. With more interviews, radio play, and creative collaborations on the horizon, I’m not just making music—I’m building a legacy. My goal is to continue leading with creativity, innovation, and the relentless energy of orange. This journey is only beginning, and I’m here to make sure the world feels it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey to this point has been a marathon, not a sprint, and ‘easy’ isn’t a word I’d use to describe any part of it. It’s been a process of constant learning, adaptation, and resilience. Early on, I faced the challenge of balancing my creative passions with the practicalities of building a career. My IT background gave me a solid foundation, but my heart was always in music, design, and innovation. So, I had to be resourceful, teach myself new skills, network relentlessly, and take risks. One of the biggest hurdles was building my brand from the ground up. It wasn’t just about making music but creating a cohesive identity that reflected my vision. That meant learning about graphic design, marketing, and the business side of the industry. There were times when I felt overwhelmed when I questioned whether I was on the right path. But I learned to embrace the challenges, to see them as opportunities for growth. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the power of collaboration. Working with other creatives, like Donta Young, Tasha Catour, Sean P, and so many others, has been incredibly enriching. They’ve challenged me, inspired me, and helped me see my work from new perspectives. Another key lesson has been the importance of staying true to my vision. There’s always pressure to conform, to follow trends, but I’ve learned that authenticity is what resonates with people. That’s why orange is such a central part of my brand – it represents the energy, passion, and unique perspective that drives me.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I’m driven by a desire to create impact. It’s not just about making music; it’s about connecting with people, inspiring them, and empowering them to pursue their dreams. I believe in using my platform to uplift others and to create a positive change. My journey has been built on passion, perseverance, and a belief in the power of creativity. It hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has made me stronger and more determined. And honestly, I feel like I’m just getting started. There’s so much more I want to create, so many more people I want to connect with, and so much more impact I want to make.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my best friends are visiting Arizona, we dive straight into the vibrant energy of Phoenix, exploring Roosevelt Row and indulge in the city’s amazing culinary scene. A sunrise hike up Camelback Mountain would be a must, followed by exploring Scottsdale’s Old Town. We’d unleash our adventurous side with ATV rides and discover the magic of Sedona’s red rocks. Of course, no Arizona trip is complete without the Grand Canyon. We’d then head to Tucson for giant saguaros and authentic Mexican food. Finally, we’d experience the breathtaking beauty of Lake Powell and Antelope Canyon. Arizona offers the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and unforgettable moments for a best friend’s getaway.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m surrounded by incredible people who have helped me get to where I am today. My wife has been my absolute rock. She’s seen me through every high and low, and her belief in me has never wavered. I’m so grateful for her constant support. So definitely a big shout out to her. The 5AM Club has also had a profound impact on me. It’s not just a book; it’s a philosophy that I now live by. It taught me the power of discipline and how to maximize those early morning hours. It’s really transformed my approach to both my creative work and my business ventures. I’ve also been blessed with mentors and colleagues who have generously shared their knowledge and pushed me to become better. And finally, to my fans – you are amazing! Your energy and enthusiasm are what keep me going. It’s an honor to share my music with you, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
