We had the good fortune of connecting with Nate Serra and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nate, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to put forth effort, and use my time for me and me alone. I no longer saw a benefit in trading my time and mental bandwidth to the corporate beast. Giving my energy in exchange for health care benefits, a decided number of “vacation days”, and the permission to feel accomplishment in achieving some one else’s goals. I wanted to know what it felt like to wake up super natural and start my day motivated without an alarm clock making demands on me.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Everyone sets off on a unique path not knowing where it will lead. The key is to collect skills and mind sets along the way that can ultimately benefit you in the end. Help mold you into your future self.
My background starts in the restaurant business. Kitchen management specifically. I gathered organizational skills, high level multitasking, and the ability to manage high stress environments. All of this translated into efficiency in manufacturing.
From there I went into sales. I gained the art of conversation, customer service, I eventually landed in tech sales and learned the inner workings of the internet, website development, and online marketing. But the most valuable knowledge gained from my years in corporate sales, was watching how corporations truly think. Being able to see the real intentions behind their decisions, and the true results they were after.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Escape the city during the day and enjoy nature. Hit the streets at night for some fun. Make sure to spend our time and money with all of our local clients throughout the Phoenix Valley.
Weekends are meant for festivals. So we would hit the local scene and say what’s up to all our favorite vendors and event teams that we work closely with.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife, kids, family, friends, and most importantly, our customers and fans
