Meet Nicole Eash | MCK Dance Team President

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Eash and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
In life, there are a lot of setbacks to face, a lot of challenges, and a lot of situations that impact us. It’s up to each of us as individuals to find that inner strength and keep pushing forward. It isn’t in our motto as a group to give up, we keep pushing forward no matter what we face. Each of us has been through so many hardships as individuals, that’s why we push forward as a team to work through challenges together as a stronger more united front. There is no such thing as giving up for us, we simply work harder and strive to be better in any way we can.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a KPOP dance cover group, there are thousands of teams just like us all over the world. Many of them are better dancers, many of them have better cameras, and many of them have more members. What sets us apart is our close bond to each other as friends as well as dance teammates. We do not see each other as just dance partners. We spend time with each other one-on-one, we go to dinners, we go to movies, and we do events at each others’ houses to strengthen our bonds with each other. We’ve all found each other through trial and error of trying out other dance teams or being solo and eventually finding each other by fate. It hasn’t been an easy road forming a dance team together, sometimes it does get hard to move between friendship and a professional team, but we’ve been slowly figuring it out together. The most important thing about MCK is that we are not just a dance group, we don’t strive for popularity, we are here for the bonds we make and the fun of having dance as a hobby.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As we mostly reside in Tempe, the first place I would suggest would be to visit Tempe Town Lake, hopefully during the time of an event! The Hawaiian festival held there is typically one of our favorites to attend! After that, we’d definitely love to show them around Mill Ave with all the new restaurants and structures they’ve built in recent years. There is also the beautiful Watermark location that has Crumbl Cookie, a favorite of our team, and Qwench Juice Bar! It’s always a fun time to take tourists through the arts district in downtown Phoenix as well! First Friday is one of the team’s favorite events of the month.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shout out my group, as cheesy as that may be, as they’ve really been a driving self for myself and each other! We all push each other to become better versions of ourselves, we provide a great support team to each other. Whether it’s for school, jobs, personal struggles, mental health, or whatever else may come our way, MCK always has each other’s backs ready to push each other forward.
