We had the good fortune of connecting with Peyton Tyree and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Peyton, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have always had a passion for the performing arts and I absolutely adore working with children. So, when I combined those two passions it seemed that the obvious choice was to pursue the career path of bringing fairytale magic to children. I did this in the form of offering various classical characters for hire.
What should our readers know about your business?
My business, Splendid Princess Parties, works to bring the most realistic fairytale magic to children located in Phoenix, AZ. I started my character business about 3 years ago. The biggest struggle for me has been keeping revenue flowing during the pandemic. I am incredibly grateful for all of my customers and fellow small businesses who have helped keep the magic afloat during these hard times. The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is that you cannot give up no matter what! Business can be slow at times and you can easily be overwhelmed, but at the end of the day you have to remember why you started your business in the first place. In my case, it was to be able to make memorable character appearances for those who want a one-on-one experience with costumed characters. I want people to know that here at Splendid Princess Parties we strive to do our best to make your event an unforgettable one!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area and I wanted to show them a grand time, the first place I would visit would be Dobbins Lookout at South Mountain for the best scenic view of the sunset overlooking Phoenix. As for where to eat, I have a pretty strong sweet tooth so we would have to make our first stop at The Sugar Bowl in Old Town Scottsdale for the absolute best milkshakes and floats. For a more relaxed environment, we would head over to The Olive Mill in Queen Creek to sample a variety of savory olives and olive oils while shopping for our own personal selection. For fun and excitement, we would venture over to The OdySea Aquarium in Scottsdale and Butterfly Garden for an unforgettable experience. When it’s time to sit back and relax, I would take my friend to the AMC theater in Ahwatukee to catch the newest movie or jump on an inner tube and float down the well-known Salt River. Before their time in Phoenix is up, I would definitely take my friend to see the Christmas at The Princess holiday event at The Fairmont Hotel in Scottsdale. The atmosphere and decorations are so incredibly beautiful, the entertainment is top-notch and the variety of scenes the hotel sets up for display is impeccable. We would finish up at S’mores Land At The Village sitting by the campfire, drinking hot chocolate and reminisce over all the fun things we did during their time in Phoenix.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I think that Kidizona and PhoenixwithKids would benefit from some recognition!
