We had the good fortune of connecting with Savannah Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Savannah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted an outlet for my creativity that would allow me to bring joy to the people around me. I think we all enjoy a little treat once in a while (or, ahem….every day). Sweets are a joyful thing, and when you create something that is not only tasty but fun to look at, it adds another layer to that experience and makes it really special.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I like to think that what sets me apart from others is my style and attention to detail. We live in a very fast-paced world where most of what we buy is mass-produced. I like to give my customers the experience of having a one-of-a-kind treat, with a lot of love and care put into it! I’ve recently enjoyed making hand-painted cake pops, and I’m very excited to be introducing some new items this Fall- including a variety of sweet snacks, seasonal drink mixes, and old-fashioned candies.

I wouldn’t say it was easy to get to where I am now. I’ve had my share of failed experiments and batches of painstakingly- made treats that didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped. However, I think the biggest challenge was overcoming my own doubts. It can be intimidating to present your work to the world, and I’m definitely my own worst critic. I’m incredibly fortunate to have such a strong support system to remind me of that. I hope I can encourage other artists, bakers, and creators to just make what they love!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m personally more of a homebody (having a cottage bakery means a lot of time in the kitchen!) but I’m always up for a great meal from Little Farm Food Truck! They serve awesome lunches and hearty breakfasts made with ingredients from local farms.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my family- specifically my mom, dad, and stepdad- who run their own businesses and have given their support every step of the way. Their guidance and expertise has been invaluable, and they have always pushed me to invest in my skills and passions.

I’d also like to recognize my fiancé-Averie- for his constant encouragement and limitless faith in me. I am a notorious overthinker, and he reminds me to take my ideas and just run with them! He’s probably the most creative person I know, and his energy inspires me to do what I love.
