We had the good fortune of connecting with Shonta’ Eastern and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shonta’, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
Being a positive role model. Showing him that he can be anything he wants to be and do anything that he puts his mind too, the skies the limit. Having a child can be difficult yet rewarding. How you raise a child will not determine their future but listening and being their support system will determine the outcome.
What should our readers know about your business?
Mahogany Essential was built from a dream that I spoke into reality. Utilizing my hands and creative mindset is a blessing for me. Being able to hand make candles with natural ingredients is my passion by getting to know how each ingredient is made and the benefits they have on health. I believe what sets me apart from others is making my customers my number one. Allowing them to take control of their interests and likes through customizing their very on astrology candles and more. I’m proud to announce that my customer service skills and outstanding ratings has gotten me an accreditation from the Better Business Bureau, which says a lot about me and my passion. With the help of my husband, I’m where I am today because of his uniqueness with the business. He’s a people’s person and he’s all about giving the people what they want and being creative in doing so. My fans and supporters had also brought me this far with my business, without them there would be no Mahogany Essential. There’s been some challenges along the way, such as finding the right variance, branding and rebranding, figuring out the burn time, networking and promoting. Each of these challenges played a role in finding ways to overcome. I found that getting your target audience involved as well as the supporters, allowing them to have a voice by offering feedback and advice to make me a better version of myself. I want the world to know that I stand behind my vision, passion, integrity and my uniqueness to give you everything you want in a candle business by allowing you to take full control over your senses, you tell me what you want and I’ll provide you just that.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d have a full week of events. First we’d go on a hike as a way to get in touch with nature, then we’d have lunch, have a girls night at a hotel, reminisce on how far we’ve come in our life. We’d go shopping of course, have some cocktails, top golf, drive up the Sedona rent a cabin, explore the scenery, meet some new people, then drive down to the Hoover dam and take helicopter ride over the city. We’d then end the week with reservations at a fine dinning restaurant with other friends and family and just before the week is over we’d have have a day of pampering, manicure, pedicures and massages.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I’d like to thank God for blessing me this far in my business, everyday is not promised but I do my best to give back and appreciate the little things I have. Also, I’d like to thank all my supporters. I’m beyond grateful for the continuous support and dedication in my business.
