We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacy Linehan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacy, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I’ve been a nurse since 1995. I primarily worked with sick pediatric patients, but a few years ago, I started spending my time with adults in pre- and post-operative phases of elective surgeries. I could quickly tell that there were vast differences in people’s health as they aged; so, I reached out to my healthier patients that were in their 70s and 80s, and asked them how they stayed in such good shape. The answers I received were consistent: “I make sure to exercise, or get whatever movement I can through the day.” “I eat healthy most of the time.” “I keep my mind active through reading, playing games, etc.”

As humans, we make choices every day that will impact the quality of our lives in the future, and it’s those acts of choice that really inspire me. I became an online motivational coach to share that inspiration, and to help people of all ages to exercise, eat healthy, and constantly stimulate their personal development; after all, it’s never too soon to start choosing a healthier, happier future. And in my quest to guide others to be their best selves, it’s given so much back to me—at 51 years old, I have never felt as strong and centered in my life as I do now. I’m excited by what the future holds, and I’m making sure that my choices every day will give me the best possible quality of life as I age; but, being able to help others to make those same choices is what excites me the most.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an online coach I help people get signed up for programs suited to their needs and abilities. I help my team members choose the best supplements to meet their goals such as weight loss or increasing muscle mass. Myself, and my group of coaches I work with, run accountability and motivational groups via Facebook and on the Beachbody site where everyone is encouraging and welcoming. I recently made the accomplishment of becoming a success starter as a new coach and as a result was asked to speak on a live panel in Phoenix at a beachbody event. Another perk of meeting the requirements of being a success starter is, I got to be in a test group for a brand new program releasing in December 2022. I want to let everyone know that it’s never to late to start making the small changes needed to look and feel great. Everyday I try to wake up grateful for the ability to make healthy choices, move my body and live my best life. The messages I get from my customers about how their body is changing or how much more energy they have and thanking me for inviting them to join me, fills my cup.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love being outdoors. Especially in Arizona when the weather is usually perfect. During the hot summer months I would visit lake Patagonia to go paddle boarding or drive up to mount Lemmon to get out of the heat and enjoy a fresh baked cookie and coffee at Cookie Cabin in the town of Summerhaven. For the rest of the year I would suggest hiking in Sabino Canyon or Catalina State park to get a real feel for the beauty of the desert.
As far as food, Mexican food is my first choice. I would suggest Guadalajara grill. For a western experience I would head to Trail Dust Town and have dinner at Pinnacle Peak.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
During the pandemic, when in-person gyms were closed, I joined Beachbody so I could have access to workouts that were possible at home. At the time, I was completely unaware of just how much impact that choice would have on me. Not only did I love the results I saw with the workout programs, I loved the supportive community enough to sign up as a coach myself. Coaching opened up a whole new world of opportunities for me, both for furthering my growth and for helping others along their own health journeys. I give a huge shoutout to all of Beachbody—which recently announced that it was changing it’s name to BODi, and shifting it’s focus away from the number on the scale, and towards leading people to a positive “health esteem.” Personally, I love this new outlook! It’s vital for us all to feel good, inside and out.

I also want to give a shoutout to my own up-line coaches, who mentored me and provided me with all the help I needed to start my coaching business. Thank you to Ashley Wininger and Chelsea Farmer; you chose to support me, challenge me, and believe in me, and I’m so grateful for every bit of it.
