Meet Tai Hernandez | CEO & Owner of The Serene Essentials LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tai Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tai, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind my business was: How can I help men & women heal & find self love. I wanted to create a safe place where everyone could shop for their essentials, whether that be a luxury skincare at an affordable price, magic healing candles with crystals & herbs or simply a cute pair of sunglasses with a cozy hoodie to match!
Self love isn’t defined by just one definition hence why we offer a wide variety of essentials.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business consists of handmade vegan luxury skincare, magic healing candles & other essentials for self love! I have been in business since 2017 shortly after I graduated Highschool 1 year early. I take pride in educating myself daily and am currently enrolling in an Esthetics program locally. This will not only aid me in gaining more knowledge with skincare but also give me an opportunity to master my craft.
The beauty of entrepreneurship is that you’re truly learning something new every day. I would definitely say there is not one easy part of owning a business. I have overcome so many adverse situations in my life, most recently my grandfather passed on my 22nd birthday this year in June. I try my best to make him proud through my business and entrepreneurship. I want to create a legacy to leave to my children one day.
I am just 22 years old, while that may seem surprising to most, I am determined to prove to people that age is truly just a number and literally anyone can make their dreams come true if they truly believe it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love little ol’ Tucson, while I am not a Tucson native, I have lived here now for 11 years & have found so many beautiful places to hang out at! I love to eat at quick places like Café Maggie on 4th Ave. For the nighttime I love Ermanos Bar & head back to Portal Cocktails for a fun nightcap. I love visiting places like Agua Caliente to take photos of my products or simply hang out & watch the ducks. In my view some of the most fun and interesting things to check out would definitely be going to on of our amazing pop ups/events! Being able to shop & support local owned businesses is my absolute favorite thing to do! Plus you get to meet & converse with super exciting & kind people! When at local events I love eating food from small food stands like The Serene Kitchen & Nopalinda (I’m drooling just thinking about their food)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to make a shoutout to my biggest support system which is my family! My mother, partner, brother & sister all helped me in tremendous ways to jumpstart my dream of starting my small business. My mother & significant other helped me by aiding in funds throughout the first year in business! My brother helped me by always motivating me and helping me come up with new ideas like our bestselling Third Eye soap! My sister, who is a graphic designer helped me by creating my labels, logos & most of my branding. Without this support and love I’m not sure how far my business would have gotten. I thank them daily!
