We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylan Kelly and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylan, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Style is personal. The most important lesson I’ve learned is to do what makes me happy when it comes to clothes, and not worry about others opinions. Authenticity and a creative vision are always on trend.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a model and stylist. I’m signed by two agencies- one exclusive and one non-exclusive. I also manage the Hugo Boss Shop located inside Saks Fifth Avenue at the Biltmore Fashion Park. I started taking pictures and posting a lot of content for social media. I had the exciting opportunity to partner with a few amazing designer brands and promote their product. Networking is what I do as a stylist and model, building relationships is an excellent way to grow personally and professionally. I’m constantly building my resume and walking in the Polo Party presented by a Phoenix Fashion Week and Sanderson Ford was one of  many great experiences. I also walked in The Wedding Show presented by Phoenix Fashion Week this past January and was cast again in the upcoming Spring show June 11th . It’s an incredible feeling to be cast in various events, but sometimes it’s not the time for me, and in this business resiliency is key” no” just means next opportunity. Always show up as the best version of you. Never give up.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hot Bagel Bakery or First Watch on North Valley Parkway are two of my favorite breakfast spots. Awesome view of the mountains! Shopping is a hobby as I’m often looking for the perfect outfit for content or my portfolio. It’s important to keep my looks current. Scottsdale Fashion Square has a wide range of shops that have options for any occasion  if I’m looking to elevate my look a bit. For a more casual vibe, Desert Ridge is a great spot. Of course, stopping for lunch is on the list of things to do and Kasai on Scottsdale Road will not disappoint! Excellent food and atmosphere! If you’re looking for an activity that’s entertaining and unique, Wonder Spaces in Scottsdale is a must see! Dinner would definitely be at Society in Tempe. Once inside this place has an eclectic style all its own. Speaking of downtown Tempe, take a bike or boat ride and enjoy the AZ Summer! If you have a sweet tooth, you have to visit Sugar Bowl Ice Cream Parlor in Old Town Scottsdale for a treat and bit of Scottsdale history.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give credit to not only the best manager but the best mother, Natasha Kelly. Since the start of my journey as a model, she has been there every step of the way, and has been my biggest support system. I would have never been where I am today if it wasn’t for her. I can’t wait to grow as a model and make her proud.
