We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffani Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffani, what do you attribute your success to?
Having a strong foundation, brand mission, and vision that I refer back to and lean on in any business decision making. The larger you plan to grow the more you will need proper organization with systems, processes (everything is a process- from hiring, firing, to how you communicate with your employees!). Properly leading your team to be in line with your mission and vision is key as well!
What should our readers know about your business?
La Belle has grown so large in the past 8 years; we have become an exemplary beauty studio that not only showcases high quality services (product) for our clients, but we’ve also become the dream studio to work at for entry level estheticians looking to hone their skill and grow to be the most talented, hardworking professionals in our area.
What is different about my business is that I started as a technician myself, working with clients day in and day out, but have learned the importance of growing teams and scaling the business; adding the right procedures, systems, and people to give me the time and space to be the visionary I am to grow the business. I am able to to forecast the growth and implement the changes that are necessary to keep the business continually growing. It absolutely was not easy, however, as passionate as I was about performing the services, I’ve learned I am most passionate about growing the business. I love being an entrepreneur and CEO. My passion for problem solving, learning and growing the business is what has helped me overcome any challenges I’ve come across.
I would love for everyone who is currently working “in” their business to take a step back and realize that you simply can’t wear all the hats at once without something falling short. You need to dedicate your time and resources to taking a step back to focus on the bigger picture and shift your efforts to working on the business if you want to see this work for you in the long run.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Courtney Ward, my studio’s Director of Operations. We met over 5 years ago to discuss what it would look like coming to work for my small business. She believed in me, and my vision, and has helped me execute it over these years and help me to grow it to the empire it is today… and we are still going! I am forever grateful that she believed in me.
My team, for also trusting in my vision and working so hard to be the best they can absolutely be.
My husband, friends and family for always believing in me and supporting me from the beginning.
