We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Miner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I never thought of starting my own business. I don’t think what I have now is really considered a business. I loved baking and what started out as an outlet ended up with friends and family wanting me to bake. That expanded into referrals from friends etc. It has alwasy been a side hussle for me, something I did in addition to my “9-5” job. During the COVID shutdown is when I started thinking that it could end up be a true business someday.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is edible art. I decorate sugar cookies for birthdays, events, weddings, corporate events etc.

I started out with taking Wilton classes, became an instructor for them and taught others. Took a break and came back to focus on sugar cookies. It has slowly grown from family, to friends to other friends and referrals. Word of mouth mostly.

I want people to know that I make really good tasting sugar cookies. Super simple. I would love to be the “go to” person for Tempe, AZ when it comes to needing cookies for special occasions and events. Slowly working on that.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I was showing a friend AZ, I would take them to the local tap room up the street called Freely. Great food, extremely nice service and good alcohol. They would meet all the neighbors Who frequent the place.

We would eat at restaurants like City Hall, Brickyard, pPerfect Pear Bistro, Hash Kitchen.

We would hang out at Murphy’s Law downtown Chandler and listen to live music. Take in a show at ASU Gammage.

I would take them up to Flagstaff to get out of heat or go snowboarding for the day. Hike Camelback. Have a front yard hangout with drink and food.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My success comes from God, family/friends support and all those bakers who put their content out on YouTube, IG, FB and tiktok for other bakers like myself to learn from. If it was not for all of them, I would not be where I am now.
