Meet Travis Silva | Wedding Photographer / Videographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Travis Silva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Travis, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My biggest success has to do with why I was created and my purpose in life. I believe God made me to love Him and to love others. Everything else stems from that. The more I follow God and read my bible, the more I see how to do this well. After I gave my life to Jesus Christ, how I do business totally changed; it is more about how I can bless people rather than what I can gain from them. This love shines into all my clients and gives them an experience that they won’t get from many other people.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been a photographer since 2009 and have enjoyed everything from shooting nature, to portraits and most of all weddings. I started out by picking up a camera to get photos I had a hard time finding for my job, and eventually taught myself all kinds of skills in photography. People started asking me to shoot their weddings, family portraits and special events. Out of a love for people and the things that matter most to them, I started ‘Forgiven Photography’. Ten years later I met my wife and we realized that so many of our creative passions aligned. And so, we’ve been shooting weddings together ever since! Both of us love weddings, meeting new people and enjoy helping them have the best experience on their special day. But we also compliment each other in our photography styles. I am more of a big picture kind of guy and she is into all the details. Together we create a beautiful array of captured moments. One of the most important things for us is preparing couples before their wedding day, helping them think of details they might have overlooked. This helps them relax and fully enjoy the day of. For example, we offer advice on how to set up a suitable itinerary, assuring we have enough time to get the best pictures possible. We also like to do an engagement shoot with the couple so they can get to know us and feel more comfortable in front of the camera. Experience and quality. That’s what we love to offer our clients!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’ve only lived here for 3 years ourselves, but have discovered such a wide variety in what Arizona has to offer. We love having people visit us in Arizona, especially for the first time. Some of our favorites – the beautiful and diverse nature! God did an absolute masterpiece when he made this part of the world. On our itinerary would definitely be a hike in the nature, surrounded by saguaro and hilly countryside. Our ultimate favorite is a day in Sedona, surrounded by the red towering rocks! Lucy’s at the Orchard is a great place for coffee or a delicious meal.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As I look back at my life and see all the influencers that had an impact in shaping my skills, character, and work ethic, it leads to one person who was that ultimate perfect life changer for me. He gave me a manual on how to live with influence and love people while doing business with integrity. A big Shoutout to Jesus Christ for giving me the abilities to do what I do. The second person is my life and business partner; my amazing wife!
