We had the good fortune of connecting with Varvara Prokhorova and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Varvara, how do you think about risk?
I am very familiar with risk. I am fond of mountaineering and cross-country skiing. We regularly find ourselves in risky situations in our sport. Once I even fell off a mountainside. I was saved by the fact that I had an ice ax and I skillfully used it. Just as I am a creative person, I often have to make risky decisions, I do not always know exactly where they will lead. But I like the phrase: “Once you risk, you can stay happy for life”!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a professional athlete and personal trainer. For the most part I compete in cross-country skiing. I also perform now in ski mountaineering and won the world championship in Spartan Race.
I have come a long way in sports. From school training to the composition of national teams and victories in major international and national competitions. And so I decided to share my experience with people. Therefore, I was educated as a coach and sports psychologist.
And I am also began to help people who want to come to the sport.
I have come a long and interesting way. Sometimes I was left alone with my ideas, but I always managed to find the right and cool way out. There were always people who could support me. I am very grateful to life for everything. And still ahead.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friend to my favorite park not far from home, obligatory walks in the city center with visits to cafes and the most beautiful places, and I would also take a friend to the highest mountain in the area, where we will be above the clouds

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are many people to whom I am grateful in my life and career. First of all, this is my family, my close people and friends. My coaches, specialists and teachers also provided me with tremendous support in life. Thanks to my sponsors, fans and everyone who supports me. Thanks to my opponents for not letting me pass. Thank you life for loving me.
