We had the good fortune of connecting with Yovanna Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yovanna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Our thought process with Desert Treat was a combination of things. It mostly started off by creating products for our daily lives that would be beneficial health wise as well as cost efficient. It started with creating recipes for our own dogs, we have a senior dog named Thunder and a two year old named Jack. They both have very different needs, so creating dogs treats to help with joints and creating dogs treats to help with separation anxiety grew into so much more.

Our idea grew into not only using our love for animals, creating healthy alternatives that cost less and utilizing our skills and hobbies into something that can help more than just ourself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Outside of Desert Treat, my career is in the Financial Industry. I would consider myself to have a creative spontaneous side as well as a logical and analytical side.

I get to maximize my strength in all areas to help in whatever I am doing. In the financial industry you have to be creative at times. Being creative with Desert Treat, being logical makes all the ideas come to life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A friend comes into town, I would take them to breakfast at Temptations Cafe in Scottsdale, at least one morning if not all. We would take a day trip to Lake Pleasant and bring the boat out. Do some wakeboarding and enjoy some sun. Everyone goes to camelback to hike, but the view is really at South Mountain. We would go for a hike at South Mountain and afterward grab some lunch at Honey Bears BBQ.

Before my friends heads back home, we have to go to the Hidden Lake and enjoy some live music and great food. Who knows, we might even rent a canoe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to give a shoutout to our families, who stuck beside us during years and years of trial and error. Tons of idea that didn’t make the cut and saw as well as joined our celebrations when we accomplished any of our many goals.
Organizations such as, OnlyHuman here in Phoenix Arizona was an inspiration when creating Desert Treat. The inclusitivioty , creativity and care the company shows is infectious. The most inspirational thing, is the very obviously purpose this company seems to have, that is care.

That is what Desert Treat, LLC is. A small business, that cares.
