We had the good fortune of connecting with Yvonne Mahoney King and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yvonne Mahoney, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Honestly I started this as a hobby and it turned into a house full of paintings. My husband suggested that we need to start making room in the house, so I started selling my paintings at a local craft/arts festival.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
With fluid art painting, the sky is the limit and I am currently in love with neon colors and glow-in-the-dark acrylic paints. I’ve been painting in this technique for three years now, so I feel like I still have a lot to learn and a lot to do to get my name out in the forefront of the Art industry. I am still in love with the actual work and creation of my art and the business aspect of getting my name out there is harder than I imagined. I have recently completed building my website and now I am playing with social media to get my name out to present my work, which is a job in itself that I never anticipated doing while still working a full-time job. With our new world climate, of COVID and being “safe at home”… I have been creating a lot more and running out of space. I love color… I love art and I want to share beauty with the world.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My high school Studio Arts teacher, Ms. Coffee. She was very instrumental in guiding me and opening up my creative juices in the Art world. She showed me the beauty in all things and how I could push my boundaries of creativity.
