We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Segebre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
In 2019, I took a leap of faith and drove from Miami to Phoenix with my pup, cat and only a few suitcases, guided solely by an address. I was a published makeup artist, who had acquired several customers, but saw an opportunity in Arizona—the market was wide open for me to succeed. Since then, life has been an exhilarating journey of self discovery which has led me to embrace better and bigger opportunities. Taking chances is essential in life, and this gamble paid off for me!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

What sets me apart? It’s a recipe with a list of ingredients! A well-encompassing, rounded person who includes a skill set, attention to detail, passion, vision and execution of that vision, professionalism, dedication, and an attitude of going the extra mile. This is how I show up which in turn results in success. It has not been easy, especially since I work full-time in the legal field. There has been stress, pressure due to my high expectations of myself and many sleepless nights. One of the major challenges I have faced was learning to develop and maintain a balanced work/life environment. I have better boundaries, time management skills, and self-care commitments. My acupuncturist Monica and massage therapist Star are my best friends who have helped me on this journey—thank you, ladies! It really does take a team to support a single person to achieve their goals. One lesson I have learned is that not every client is meant for me and that is okay. Once I clarified who my target clientele was, I stayed focused on them and the rest is history. I want the world to know that it’s important to follow your heart as it will never steer you wrong. Go chase your dreams!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Sedona, baby! It’s absolutely breathtaking and incredibly therapeutic. We should stay there a few nights, hike Cathedral Mountain, go to the End of the World—one of my favorite hidden spots—visit Crystal Magic, have dinner at Hideaway House while sitting outside, so we can admire the massive stars of Sedona’s sky. Then, we’ll venture back home to Phoenix and do a little staycation at the Phoenician Resort! We can go to the spa for one day, lounge by the pool, have dinner at The Canal Club, and venture off for late-night drinks at my favorite bar in town—The Gallery Bar in Desert Ridge.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
With deep appreciation, I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my beloved friends and family who have continuously believed in me, supported me, and encouraged me throughout my journey. To my clients, especially Gateway for Cancer Research—an organization close to my heart that was introduced to me through Natalie Stewart at “An Evening of Trends Gala,” hosted by Trends Magazine at the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia. I am grateful to all of you for having faith in me, allowing me to be creative, and continuing to book with me.
