Meet Astrid Kristabel | Content creator & travel photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Astrid Kristabel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Astrid, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As an outdoor lover and travel enthusiast, I’ve always loved exploring new destinations, immersing myself in different cultures, and experiencing the world in all its beauty. And with the rise of social media, I saw an opportunity to share my adventures with a wider audience and inspire others to embark on their own journeys.
While I still work as a travel RN part time, using social media to start my own business was a natural progression for me. I wanted to create a platform where I could not only showcase my travels but also provide valuable insights and tips for other travelers. I also wanted to have the freedom and flexibility that having your own business provides. There is nothing quite like being your own boss!
As my small business continues to grow, I’m focusing on building relationships with my followers and engaging with them on a personal level. I want to create a community of like-minded travelers who could share their experiences and inspire each other.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a travel content creator who works with hotels and Airbnb’s, my art is all about capturing the essence of a destination and showcasing the unique features of each property that I collaborate with. I believe that what sets me apart from others is my ability to tell a story through my visuals, bringing to life the personality of each hotel or Airbnb and creating a connection with my audience.
What I’m most proud of and excited about is the impact that my content has on my clients. I’ve had the privilege of working with some amazing Airbnb’s that have seen a significant increase in bookings and revenue as a result of my content. Knowing that I’m making a tangible difference to their bottom line is incredibly rewarding.
Getting to where I am today was not easy, but there is still much more room for me to grow professionally. This is only the beginning for my small business! However, some of the challenges I have faced thus far mostly deal with navigating the constantly evolving landscape of social media and developing strategies to grow my following. I believe that it’s these challenges that have helped me grow and develop as a content creator.
One of the key lessons that I’ve learned is the importance of staying true to my vision and my values. It can be tempting to compromise on quality or authenticity in order to follow a trend or please others, but I’ve found that the best results come from being true to myself and creating content that I’m proud of.
Another lesson that I’ve learned is the power of collaboration. Working with hotels and Airbnb’s is a team effort, and I’ve found that the best results come from building strong relationships with my clients and working together to create content that truly represents their brand.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I’m passionate about creating content that tells a story and inspires people to explore the world. I believe that travel has the power to bring people together, break down barriers, and create unforgettable memories. My goal is to capture those moments and share them with the world!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, we would go on a food tour all over the Phoenix metro area! Her first day here we’d probably grab lunch at Pizzeria Bianco, which has amazing pizza but if the wait is too long the Arrogant Butcher is a great choice too. We’d walk around Roosevelt Row and enjoy all of the murals and street art, later head to camelback mountain for a challenging sunset hike with amazing views of the city.
Next day we’d have to go to Old Town Scottsdale, have tacos and cocktails at Diego Pops, explore the Desert Botanical Garden, and finish off with dinner at Citizen Public House and their amazing whiskey collection.
Day three we’d go to Tempe! I love the Snooze A.M. Eatery for creative twists on classic breakfast dishes. She loves to paddleboard, so exploring the Tempe Town Lake on SUPs is a must! We’ll definitely be starving afterwards so for lunch, the Culinary dropout is perfect because of their beautiful outdoor patio and live music.
Day four I know she’d also love to explore the trails at Papago Park for a few hours. Then we’d head to the Mission and share a bunch of starters, my favorite being the guacamole prepared at table side and the pozole roja. We could go on a tour of the Tovrea Castle and its stunning gardens, and afterwards walk around the Phoenix public market. For dinner, she would absolutely love The Gladly’s raw bar and wine list.
And for the last day a scenic drive up South Mountain Park, which has panoramic views of the city and several hiking trails. Then we’d have the best comfort food at the retro-style Welcome Diner. And finish at the Phoenix Art Museum before driving her back to the airport!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My amazing boyfriend Jason (@jae.bourdier), who has been a part of this journey every step of the way. He is the most supportive partner and motivates me to better myself everyday. We are truly a team! Although my name is in the title, he is the guy behind the scenes who keeps the machine that is our small business well oiled.
