We had the good fortune of connecting with Angie Tovar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angie, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Daily affirmations have put me in the right state of mind to pursue my dreams and make them come true, one of my daily affirmations that I write down is “I am worthy” which I am! Everyone has doubts, but you have to go for it. No one is going to stop you but yourself. Keep reminding yourself you are worth it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart from others is that I’m not stuck in one certain style of tattooing I can do all kids if styles because I am naturally an artist, I’m not a traditional tattoo artist or a neo traditional, I’m just a tattoo artist I don’t like to put a name to my style because it’s unique and just as beautiful

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend come to town I would first take them on a hike at Willow lake to climb the rocks, or go hiking up thumb butte. Then I would take them to the Raven which has amazing local brew on tap and great food, I would also go to my favorite underground spot the Superstition Meadery.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I honestly taught myself everything I know it took a lot of trial and error to get to where I am now. I paid for some classes on 10 Masters to help me figure out which tools to use for the right job and help master my techniques.
