We had the good fortune of connecting with Gerty Tsinnie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gerty, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
With over a decade of experience in IT, I recognized a need for professional IT services in my community locally and through the greater southwest. I enjoy solving problems and helping to make people’s lives easier with the help of technology.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I am eager to gain more of a client-base locally so that I can continue to help small businesses make the most of their technology investments while proactively defending and securing their data from cyber-attacks. I love solving problems and building and designing systems that elevate businesses to greater heights. I take great pride in helping my clients to eliminate manual and redundant tasks to make their lives easier.

As far as my journey to where I am today, professionally, it was not easy. I was a single mother for a large part of the last decade and my drive to excel in my professional career has always been to provide a solid foundation for my daughter. I dropped out of university in my junior year to pursue a career in IT and as a woman in the field, I had to work twice as hard to make sure that I stood out and could be taken seriously.

Honestly, I feel like I have been really lucky.

I have been very fortunate to experience the satisfaction of hard work and preparation meeting opportunity at just the right time in my line of work.

I think the biggest lessons that I have learned over the past few years are how important the support and encouragement of your leadership is to your success and in return how important it is as leaders that we provide that same support and encouragement to our teams. I believe that mentoring and coaching our greener technicians in the field is critical to the future of organizations and businesses, and I enjoy sharing my experiences and lessons learned with those I mentor.

My brand and my story? I think that our tagline at 917 Solutions says it all, “Delivering the Future” – future is different for everyone and not all organizations are on the same page, but if I can help my clients get to what their vision of success looks like and enable their business with technology…. Well, I will have completed what I set out to do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

In no order whatsover, these are some of my favorite places local to Phoenix

– Cornish Pasty, love trying out all the assortments of baked goods
– Arizona Wilderness Brewery for lunch or dinner
– Who needs breakfast when you have the Attic Ale House with their 1lb burger and selection of taps?

As far as activities, there is always a mountain to hike or some trails to walk – my favorite has probably been the Four Peaks hike.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my grandparents. Throughout my life, they have always been my biggest supporters, mentors, and sources of love and encouragement. They have taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and kindness, and have instilled in me a strong sense of integrity and responsibility. Without their guidance and unwavering belief in me, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

I’d also like to recognize my friends and colleagues who have been there for me through thick and thin, providing support and encouragement in both my personal and professional life. Their camaraderie and inspiration have helped me grow as a person and achieve my goals.

I want to give credit to the countless teachers, mentors, and authors who have shaped my thinking and inspired me with their wisdom and insights. Their knowledge and guidance have been instrumental in shaping my worldview and contributing to my personal and professional growth.

And last but not least, a special thank you to my partner Sara. For patiently supporting me through the countless nights I have run back to my computer for one last edit to that broken script or line of code. And a special thank you to my daughter Sky, for always making the best pots of coffee for morning meetings. I would not be where I am without the love, encouragement, and support of my family.

Overall, I am grateful to have had the support and guidance of so many amazing individuals and communities in my life, and I hope to pay it forward by being a positive influence and support for others in turn.
