I remember always either getting in trouble or getting praised for doodling in class. Whether it was just drawing a band logo for a friend, or making little comics about absurd situations from school, I’ve always just enjoyed making things. When I hit Senior year of High School and college was something I wanted to pursue, I was lucky/cursed that I lived about 3 minute walk from the now defunct Southwest University of Visual Arts. I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else. I tried different things after I graduated college and had a corporate job for several years but I would basically work another full-time job in the arts after my day job. Nothing has ever been as fulfilling to me as entertaining and making people smile/laugh.
