Meet Emily Irene | Videographer and Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Irene and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emily, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I want to be good friends or best friends with all my my clients. I like to have a professional aspect integrated into my business, of course! But I do much better work when I maintain a true connection. I am known for having true connections to my clients and other vendors in our industry.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been a part of this industry for over 7 years. Since the end of 2020 i have been full time as a creative.
What sets me apart is that I genuinely care about client experiences. I give each client everything I have to produce beautiful pieces of art.
The thing that is challenging is when you have clients who don’t respect you or what you are doing. It becomes hard to be creative but also be professional. I am not going to lie, I struggle dealing with hard clients. I like to fix things and I try my best to make everyone happy, but sometimes you can’t!
I am learning to let things go more and not take a few bad apples to ruin my experiences. It’s normal for any business to have some adverse people. When I speak with young creatives, I let them know that they are so worth being happy. They don’t deserve harsh treatment or criticism of their work. I have mentored many people in the last 7 years and cried with them as well. Owning a business is hard but it’s also way more rewarding keeping
persistent.
I have seen it all. I am moving into the territory of being a long term professional creative and I am slowly seeing young creatives reaching out to me for guidance. It all goes back to having deep relationships with creatives and clients.
I could sit here and tell a beautifully creative story about my brand, but that isn’t authentic. I am here to build strong relationships while making beautiful art. People first and creativity second.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Downtown Scottsdale is where it’s at! The beautiful history and buildings make for wonderful photos. AND THE FOOD! I could spend my whole life down there and I would be content.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have a large handful of wonderful clients and creatives that have stood by me through it all. They know who they are!
I really want to thank Jordan Peterson, a wonderful philosopher and lecturer, for helping my learn to communicate well. I was really struggling with how to navigate multiple personalities and relationships, he helped me find the balance.
I would also like to thank Ramsey Solutions for helping me become financially free and know my worth as a business owner.
