Meet Ava Mucikyan | Founder of The Salt Room

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ava Mucikyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ava, what do you attribute your success to?
The Salt Room was created to serve the greater good of the community. The idea came to me with a strong sense of urgency to create this space to help people with respiratory and skin disorders. It was never about success or money for me, it was to create a sanctuary where people came to heal and rejuvenate.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Salt Room is a wellness center that offers a one-stop-shop of all of your self-care needs. It is the first Halotherapy Center in Las Vegas, offering salt therapy, massages, body treatments facials, reiki and meditation classes. The Salt Room offers the only microclimate of a salt cave where people come to treat a list of respiratory and skin disorders, such as Asthma, Allergies, COPD, Eczema, Psoriasis, and even anxiety and depression. However, what makes The Salt Room truly unique is that it became a platform for women to explore their passion and launch their ideas. Within the past 9 years that we’ve been open, we have helped many women explore their business ideas under our umbrella and launch successful businesses. I believe The Salt Room has been successful and survived many challenges along the way simply due to the fact that it was created with a greater good in mind. It was about service to our community. There were many challenges involved in creating The Salt Room starting from construction all the way to operating 3 locations mixed with a healthy dose of pandemic in the middle, but that just came to prove that when an idea is wired with passion and geared towards greater good, no obstacle is big enough to overcome.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The infamous Las Vegas strip has no shortage of entertainment and exquisite restaurants, but apart from that I make sure my guests also get to experience the beauty of our landscape by taking them for a hike at Red Rock, to a local Jazz Club for amazing local performers and afternoon tea at my favorite tea room The Tea Terrace. On the strip I make sure they visit Bellagio’s Garden, take a gondola ride at The Venetian, have a cocktail at the Wynn by Lakeside and visit the rooftop bars such as Skyfall at Delano or Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Elena Ledoux, the CEO of Boss Security Screens and Superb Maids. I met Elena at a very pivotal time in my life and in the life of my company, when I needed all the help I could get to push through and propel personally and professionally. I am grateful for our encounter and friendship, and attribute a lot of my success to our friendship.
