We had the good fortune of connecting with Summer Grant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Summer, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I honestly feel that we are gifted talents from genetics and mine just happen to be a creative writer, nail tech, event planner and interior designer. I feel alive creating and truly enjoy.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
For years I have chased my dreams until I found my niche. Being a creative teaches you how to be consistent, disciplined, and productive. Success doesn’t happen overnight. I’m excited about the opportunity to continue to grow, expand in my brand. I’m most proud of the opportunities and experiences that I have made during this journey.
Being an entrepreneur isn’t easy but it’s worth it if you stay the course. One of the many lessons that I’ve learned is consistency is key and to know it’s okay to start over as long as you don’t give up!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ha! I’m the goat at this. For starters we have to begin with a nice sunrise brunch, maybe check out some of our outlet shopping centers, stay at the resort. Spa dates, comedy show, festival, winery, hiking, 4-wheels, shooting range, Basketball, baseball games. We’d stop by a few city events and tufting. We can do a Vegas or California road trip. Trust me I have enough for us to do in a week! This is Arizona.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout would be my parents for instilling entrepreneurship in my life early on. As well my writing heroes Author T. Styles, JaQuavis Coleman, Wahida Clark, Donald Goines, and Dick Wolfe. They’ve inspired the writing force behind my career.

As for other successes I have experienced in my career would be my nail mentor Cindi Hamwright at Cindirella Nails. She’s taught me so much about the nail industry and business. Forever grateful.
