We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua Rempel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joshua, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
We decided that we had something to offer, and saw a space that we could bring some value to what we love to do. We have been professional fitness coaches for a combined time of over 20 years, and both love to ride dirt bikes. Why not try and combine the two? We know the value of being fit and strong on the bike, and how it has helped us, so we figured that we would start a business that allowed us to share our passion for lifting and being functional fit with a community that would greatly benefit from the knowledge and expertise we could bring to the table.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We do what we preach. We ride dirt bikes, and we train hard in the gym. We believe in what we do. The insights and knowledge that we base our programing and training on, have come through personal experiences, previous mentorships, and hard work. We stand apart from others in our industry because we do not stand on accomplishes from the past, or outdated methods. We do what works, and always will. Our field is littered with hacks and gimmicks, always trying to sell short cuts and shiny objects. What we offer is a path to being stronger, fitter, and physically prepared to tackled the sport we love. It is hard, and takes consistent effort over time, but so does anything worth having. Our story has been foraged by hard work, and that is what we offer. We provide a road map through training, designed to make you stronger, improve your metabolic engine, and build a robust chassis that can absorb and handle the hardships when you are out on the bike, whether you are a weekend warrior or a professional racer, the fundamentals stay the same, but the volume and specificities change.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We live in a small mountain town on the Idaho side of the Idaho, Wyoming boarder, most of our attractions come in the form of being outside in the great outdoors. We would go exploring! wether that be on a dirt bike :), or traveling by foot. We are also surrounded by amazing a places, Yellowstone National Park is really close and Jackson Hole Wyoming is also a stones throw away. When it comes to a night life, our small town goes to bed pretty early, but there are some great restaurants in the town of Driggs. Forage Bistro and Kings Sushi being two of them.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a general Shoutout, to all those that offer true encouragement and support for those that are trying to build and create things that light them on fire. At one point in my life, I was living in a metal warehouse building, that I had converted into a very “rusitc” living space, it also housed my Wood shop at the time. It was really cold during the winters, it was in Jackson, Wy. Whatever temp it was outside, it was almost the same inside…Minus the windchill. I lived in that space for 3 years. I learned a lot about what I was willing to do, what worked and did not. It helped me to understand what sacrifice was, and if I really wanted to achieve something, it was up to me and the level at which I was willing to be uncomfortable to achieve it. So a shoutout to Landlords, that provide spaces for naive entrepenuaers to get some exposure to what it takes to build something new.
