We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Hernandez, Dayami Perez, Javier Tamayo, Sergio Montoya and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mary Hernandez, Dayami Perez, Javier Tamayo, Sergio Montoya, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Our thought process behind starting The Creators Studio was driven by our passion for creativity and the desire to provide a unique space for content creators. The pandemic forced many people to rethink their work-life balance, and we’ve seen an increase in the presence and need of online influencers. We wanted to create an environment that inspires them and fosters collaboration, where not only can photographers capture stunning images but also enables content creators to cultivate their storytelling skills and create compelling digital, video, and social content. By starting The Creators Studio, we aimed to fill this gap in the industry and provide a dedicated space that empowers artists and creators to unleash their imagination and create exceptional work.
We aim to build a thriving community of digital storytellers, photographers, event planners, and other creative individuals who can benefit from our resources and support. As a team of artists consisting of a painter, a producer, and two photographers, we are committed to providing a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that encourages artistic exploration and growth. We also offer the studio for events. This approach gives clients a comprehensive solution for their photography services, event hosting, and creative hub needs.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We pride ourselves on pushing boundaries and thinking outside the box. We wanted to create a unique, thought-provoking space that resonate with our audience deeply. While most of the studio spaces in Arizona are neutral colored, we chose to risk with a colorful and vibrant space. We have faced competition, changing industry trends, and the need to adapt constantly. Another big challenge was building our reputation and client base. As a relatively new studio, we had to work hard to establish credibility. This involved actively seeking opportunities, networking, and delivering exceptional experiences to have repetitive customers. One of the most important lessons we’ve learned is the power of authenticity. We have created a unique and different space by staying true to our artistic voice. We also learned the value of building a solid network of like-minded individuals and embracing lifelong learning. We believe in the power of art to transform lives, challenge perspectives, and ignite change. Our studio and event space offers much more than four walls. It is a space where ideas come to life and dreams are realized.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start our day by having breakfast at The Breakfast Club, known for its delicious dishes and cozy atmosphere. After, we would explore the vibrant art galleries, boutiques, and charming Southwestern architecture of Old Town Scottsdale, where we could immerse ourselves in the local art scene and admire the work of talented artists. Next, we would venture to the Desert Botanical Garden, a place of natural beauty showcasing the diverse flora of the desert. To add more excitement to our trip, we would embark on a day trip to Sedona, known for its breathtaking red rock formations. We would go on a scenic hike to witness the stunning vistas.
As the day winds down, we would head to either Federal or Postino for dinner. Both restaurants offer a delightful dining experience with excellent options for sharing plates. The idea for starting The Creators Studio was actually born during a dinner at Postino, adding a fun and personal connection to our journey.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would like to give a special shoutout to our co-founders, families, industry mentors, and wonderful clients. Their contributions, dedication, and belief in our studio have been vital to our growth, and we are incredibly grateful for their support and recognition. We also want to express our profound appreciation for the strong partnership and remarkable synergy we share as a team.

We thank Peerspace for providing a unique platform that empowers creators to share their spaces. That’s where the idea of creating the studio arose.
