We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandra Ally and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sandra, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The decision to start my own business was a clear nudge from my soul and my mind followed along. Growing up in a mixed religion household, I had an understandable curiosity of what made people the same, and different. Big questions about beliefs and feelings and a calling to help others to led me to study psychology and work in mental health and social services for close to twenty years. With all the people that I served over the years, it became clear, we are all the same, needing to be loved and cared for with respect and dignity. As I continued to evolve, personally and professionally I also came to realize that healing is much more complex than simply understanding with the mind. I sought the help and guidance of energy healers, shamanic practitioners, elders, and wise people who showed me how to reconnect to path of our ancestors, to myself. Moving from surviving to thriving is an act of rebellion in our modern world and I am so glad I followed the calling of my heart to help others on their healing journey back to Self.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master Teacher and Shamanic Practitioner with degrees in Clinical Psychology. I specialize in transpersonal counseling and spiritual healing helping my clients heal trauma, emotional blocks, identify and transform limiting beliefs and outdated patterns of behavior and address ancestral and past life karma. True healing happens when we are willing to look at the parts of ourselves that are often hidden from plain sight. I journey with my clients into the shadows to reclaim the parts of themselves in need of loving care and attention allowing a return to wholeness.

I am particularly excited about this great time of transition on our planet. More and more people are awakening to the reality that the lives we are living, the dreams we have been sold are actually keeping us trapped in illness, dis-ease, and survival. It is my absolute pleasure to assist others in letting go of the burdens of years of stressful and traumatic living.

Arriving at this current state of my business has not been easy, yet certainly worthwhile. I recommend the following:

1. Get in touch with your why, your passion, your calling or mission. This often comes after a time of serious introspection and letting go of expectations from yourself or others.

2. Have faith in Creator, God, the Universe and have faith in yourself.

3. Stay humble and ask for help.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite things to do, see, and eat with my best friend in San Francisco Bay Area, in no particular order and all delicious:

French toast or home fries heaven at Doyle Street Café, Coffee anywhere local, Shizen Vegan Sushi Bar and Izayakaya, The Conservatory of Flowers, De Young Museum, stroll through Golden Gate Park, eat a burrito, a day trip to Sonoma, a sound bath, Muir Woods, hike Mount Tam, admire the murals in the Mission, hear the sea lions bark at pier 39 and have a picnic in any park and put your feet in the Pacific Ocean.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize my parents for their courage to build their lives in a new country, show me what it means to truly care for and love others and their never-ending support of my truly rebellious and beautiful path taken in this life. Thank you to all the healers who held space for me to heal and a special shoutout to my many clients who have helped me evolve.
