Meet Jane Mishkind | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jane Mishkind and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jane, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Being kind. Making certain no one feels left out and always has a place to go for comfort.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a member of the healing arts community. I have been a healer in one form or another for many years. I paint as a form of moving meditation. I use paint in a manner that I feel allows healing energies to come forward. I look to the natural world for breath and I find peace in the kindness of animals. My work allows its viewer to find what they might need at that moment, a gentle place to rest.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Arizona skies are amazingly beautiful. Living in the Sonoran Desert is the most beautiful place in the world. As a tonalist painter I have so many beautiful landscapes to photograph, the different shades of green are stunning. I prefer life to be easy and casual. North Scottsdale has so many lovely small pubs, coffee shops, and independently owned fun shops.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All of the peacekeepers
