We had the good fortune of connecting with Laura Sweitzer and Jaclyn Arcuri and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laura and Jaclyn, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
There are stylists and there are image consultants. There is a distinct difference between the two. When you hire us as an image consultant, we’re providing consultative services and education to help our clients see their potential, and ultimately, teach them how to maximize their personal image in a way where they can independently share the best of who they are with the outside world. We often find in our consultations, people may come to us because they want new clothes or career guidance, and we certainly can do that! However, our goal as image consultants is to help you see your beauty from within, maximize your skillset and ultimately express your personal image from a place of confidence and empowerment.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We both grew up in Corporate America in executive sales and leadership roles in the financial services industry. We spent our time developing women into evolving professionals which often included coaching women to maximize their personal image in the workspace. Image was so much more to us than what you wore – it was how you felt and expressed yourself!

Touching the lives of many women during our corporate professional career, we knew we wanted to have an even greater reach! We wanted to take our experience beyond the walls of corporate America! When we reflected on the aspects that we loved the most about our roles, it was the development of women specifically, supporting their skills personally and professionally, so they can truly shine in their roles and in their personal lives. That was truly the foundation of forming Shine Image Consulting. Now, we consult with women all over the country, providing career guidance and styling service to maximize the image of women everywhere.

Becoming an entrepreneur was not easy! It was scary! There is something to be said for safety and security and a reoccurring paycheck. But we knew there is also something to be said for waking up every day doing something that you love and being the ones to build it over time. We appreciated our time in corporate America for the skills that we share with women all over the country. It was so difficult to make that decision to leave that stability. However, we both would say that once we did it, we wonder why it took us so long to do it!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Let’s start the weekend off right! Tacos, margaritas and live music at Rita’s Cantina Bar, located at the JW Marriott Camelback Resort. Yummy food with beautiful views of Camelback mountain.

After a good night sleep, wake up early to do a little hike before the sun gets too hot. We love Pinnacle Peak Mountain – the trails are typically quieter in the AM before the mountain gets too busy. After some movement, time to fuel up afterwards with brunch at Proof at the Four Seasons hotel. Amazing breakfast options or lunch if that is what you are in the mood for. Complete with milkshakes for desserts!

We love Fashion Square and Old Town Scottsdale for shopping. From well-known retailers to cute boutiques, you will find so many options for your closet and budget. Not to mention, souvenirs for yourself and others! Before dinner, enjoy a glass at Scapegoat Bar; our favorite neighborhood place for a delicious glass of wine and small plates to whet your appetite. For dinner and to tap off an amazing day, we always take guests to Maple & Ash, one of the best places for steak, seafood and people watching (always such stylish outfits!).

Sundays are for resting! Let’s relax with a facial, massage and body wrap service at the Sanctuary Resort. We adore this quaint hotel, nestled into Camelback Mountain, for their excellent spa services, yummy food at their infinity pool and handcrafted cocktails from their Jade Bar. Perfect way to end a fun-filled weekend in Scottsdale.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
