Meet Brittany Shulla | Wedding Ceremony Curator with Officiating By Brittany

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Shulla and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
Building a business is a grind
Yes, building a business is work and takes effort. However, when you begin to understand that YOU are your brand, the process and navigation at scaling a business becomes more enjoyable and less depleting.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am more than a wedding officiant, I’m a ceremony curator. The experience and how my couples FEEL is the place I begin from.
A wedding is a rite of passage and a very big deal. YOUR love story can not be duplicated and so I never do the same ceremony twice. Each ceremony planning process begins with me really taking the time and energy to understand the pieces of each couple I work with.
I also understand how deeply scary it can be to commit yourself to one human your entire life.
As someone who prioritized personal and spiritual growth, I had never found out how to do that in a relationship. But now, after falling in love with my best friend and speaking with HUNDREDS of couples, I have fallen in love with this rite of passage. I see the deep joy one can find when you CHOOSE to live alongside your person. I appreciate it when I get to sit and listen to the waves of love. There is definitely no right way to fall in love. There is only YOUR way.
The biggest challenge for me has been using my voice I get imposter syndrome often because I can’t believe I get to witness such intimate beautiful love everyday. But God anointed me to serve as a ceremony minister and I do not take that lightly.
I pour my whole heart and soul into every couple, ceremony and love story so that I can represent it in the best way possible.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hiking and day trips. I love to take a day or weekend to drive up to Payson or Sedona for hiking and nature.
If we stay local to phoenix, I enjoy showcasing all the yummy restaurants and craft cocktail bars in Phoenix. If weather permits, I love to visit our beautiful resorts and take a day to enjoy cocktails by the pool

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be here without my Mentors, Rich and Shelby Satnam at Lets Knot and Say We Did (www. letsknotandsaywedid.com)
I started my first year of officiating through them and was blessed to be guided the entire way. I began in 2020 during covid when the wedding paradigms began shifting. This company is all about SOUL and guiding couples to find their most authentic expression of their wedding day. I went from working with Lets Knot in 2020 to start Officiating by Brittany in 2021 and they have been extremely supportive of my growth. I love them dearly and am beyond grateful for their guidance and love.
Moved this here : To this day I am very close friends of Rich and Shelby and still work with them serving on their Sister company ” Arizona Elopement Collective ”
I have also been astounded at the support in the Arizona wedding industry. A lot of my clients come from referrals from fellow wedding vendors.
