We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Rodney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my brand is compassion and heart. I care deeply about making an impact in the lives of families and providing them with the absolute best care. Families feel this care and dedication and they know that I have their families best interest at heart. As an agency owner I use this understanding and care for people to find families their perfect doula. As a doula trainer I am committed to offering the doulas a thorough and passionate training to inspire doulas to care as much as I do. Everyone I meet knows the deep level of care I have for families.

What should our readers know about your business?
I own two doula agencies Chicago Family Doulas and Arizona Doulas. I started this journey 10 years ago and didn’t fully commit to owning a business full time until 3 years in. Once I committed everything fell into place. I am the type of person that once I choose to give all my energy I will not stop until I achieve what I set out to achieve. The biggest challenges for me were having to find my own path and listen to my internal voice about all things business. I have also had to face many things that were scary. Being a business owner means I have to have hard conversations and be a leader at all times. I am a stronger person now than I was 7 years ago.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A dream weekend with a friend would be staying at the Arizona Biltmore and relaxing by the pool with drinks and naps. My life with 3 kids and running businesses can be very overwhelming so a relaxing weekend away would be a dream.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I was inspired to take this path after the amazing birth support I received from my doulas and friends Chantel Leatherwood and Michelle Young. This is where my heart for this work came from. Michelle inspired me to take risks with myself and my business and that allowed me to become the successful business owner that I am today. All of my family and friends believed in my abilities and my dreams and that made me trust myself to jump in 1000%.
