We had the good fortune of connecting with Rena McDonald and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rena, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite quote is from Willy Wonka, “A little nonsense now and again is relished by the wisest men.” As an attorney, it’s quite effortless to become engrossed in handling significant, life-altering matters for both myself and my clients. This particular quote serves as a valuable tool for navigating the stress and difficulties associated with maintaining a work-life balance. When faced with overwhelming stress, recalling this quote serves as a source of relaxation, helping to ease the tension. I make a conscious effort to maintain a light atmosphere for my staff, preventing them from feeling overwhelmed. Additionally, as a parent, I strive not to let my personal challenges permeate into my family’s life. Embracing a bit of lightheartedness occasionally not only alleviates tension, allowing for clearer solutions, but also enhances the overall satisfaction derived from the job.
What should our readers know about your business?
In 2007, I established my firm just before the housing market downturn. Initially, our focus was predominantly on real estate matters, and the initial period was exceptionally demanding. However, as our clients’ requirements evolved, so did our approach. We broadened our scope of legal expertise to address the diverse issues they faced. Despite the initial challenges, our firm persevered. Eclipse Law Group remains committed to assisting our clients and contributing to the well-being of the community we serve.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I hail from Las Vegas, a city I consider one of the finest on the planet. Growing up here, I’ve come to appreciate the significant role the hotel industry plays in our community. A stroll down the Las Vegas Strip can transport you across the globe within a few hours, exposing you to renowned sights and cultures. While I believe it takes a few days to fully grasp the richness of the Strip, I find the true marvel of our city lies beyond it. I reside in Henderson, an adjacent city, consistently recognized as one of the best places to live in America. Here, we boast an array of fantastic small, family-owned restaurants and businesses offering a diverse mix of cuisines and cultures. Henderson combines the benefits of the southwest with the variety of world-renowned attractions. The desert, often underestimated, holds a simplistic beauty, particularly during sunset—an experience that transcends explanation. Our area features incredible hiking and off-road biking opportunities amid red rocks, painted deserts, and serene vistas. A short drive away, the remarkable engineering feat of the dam and bridge awaits exploration, and the Grand Canyon, just a few hours distant, offers breathtaking views. I feel incredibly grateful to be part of this community, enriched by its diverse beauty and attractions.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I function because of the support of my husband, family, and staff. They are the foundation on which I stand and am able to build my practice into greatness. I am incredibly grateful for them and know that I would not be able to function without them and their efforts.
