We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Nadia Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Nadia, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Integrity. I have worked with women business owners to uncover the emotions and negative thoughts that prevent them from mastering sales and creating a profitable business. It usually comes down to removing the myth that being successful in sales means being salesy or manipulative. It is so important for people to develop their own selling style that embodies their personality and values. Holding fast to their integrity and anointing these conversations with dignity, class, and grace allows them to genuinely connect with potential clients and close sales.

What should our readers know about your business?
I created The Doyenne Agency to help women founders thrive while building cultures that foster mutual success, and are respectful of the needs of their buyers and their teams. Simply put, I wanted to eradicate sleazy/pushy sales techniques. So I built The Doyenne Agency as a premiere organizational development consulting and training company that specializes in building values-centered sales cultures, helping all employees recognize and own their role in the cycle of Attract=>Delight=>Retain and that ultimately create mutual abundance for all parties.

My team and I have served clients in a myriad of ways. We’ve acted as sales people for other people’s businesses. We’ve led back-of-the-room sales teams at large conferences and events. And we’ve worked hand-in-hand with CEOs and stakeholders to develop custom sales strategies that align with their unique clientele to surpass their revenue targets.

It definitely was not easy but my approach is rooted in clear expectations, honesty, mutual trust, and respect. My experience allows the development of world-class sales training for sales professionals and non-sales people alike.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely schedule a Girl’s Day at The Spa at Camelback Inn. Many of my close gal-pals are either entrepreneurs or high-level executives who typically need a day of pampering to break from the daily grind. I would book us time at the spa for massages, facials, and of course, time poolside to enjoy a quick dip and lounge in the Arizona sun (this of course is not in the summer months because I would not do that to a friend – LOL). We would round out the day with shopping and a quick bite at some of the small businesses around the area. I feel it is important to give back to small businesses in the community.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Grandmother, Dorothy Henry (aka Granny) has had a profound impact on my life ever since I was a baby. We always shared a special connection, and I credit her for being the main catalyst for pursuing my doctorate. I really don’t know if there would be a Dr. Nadia without her influence. I credit my grandmother for teaching me that “Anything worth having is worth fighting for,” “To get my education because no one can take it away from you,” and “Understanding the power of family and legacy.” When I was 17, I promised her that I would “get all of the colors” (aka my Doctorate) and I am so proud that I was able to not only fulfill that promise, but I was able to do that while she was still alive.
