Meet Andria Munoz | Entrepreneur, Product Designer, Founder of Andria’s Tienda

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andria Munoz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andria, what do you attribute your success to?
The first thought that comes to my mind is my mother. Ultimately, I wouldn’t have the courage to follow my dreams without her never ending support and building my esteem up at a young age. Once I found my passion, I stayed consistent and continued to work really hard to achieve minor goals over the years. For anyone that has ever supported my dream and purchased from my small business has also attributed to my overall success.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Hola my name is Andria and I own Andria’s Tienda! I started my entrepreneur journey back in 2019 at my very first market called the Mujeres Mercado. I’ll never forget that day, I sold out of all my handmade concha earrings. After that day, I was determined to create a career out of my passion for creating jewelry inspired by my Mexican culture.
Let’s fast forward to September 2023 when I opened my first brick and mortar. Now that I have way more room than a canopy and tables I decided to expand my inventory to carry other small Chicano owned businesses like myself. I have all sorts of cool offering’s like pan dulce merchandise, ague de sandia candles, serape sacred heart hats, paintings by local Latino artists, limited edition kids and adult apparel designed by my partner and I. I may be self funded, but I do my best to rotate my inventory on a weekly basis. I started out selling my handmade jewelry and now I have a carefully curated, Mexican gift shop and boutique. Everyone is welcome to check it out!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First, I will take them to my spot. I share a building with a bilingual bookstore, coffee shop and Zine shop. Since I’m located on Roosevelt and 9th Avenue we could probably head to downtown or visit Grand Ave to see what’s going on over there. I love taking my amigos to my favorite brunch spot, Centrico off Central and Monroe.
Then I would make our way out of the city and take them on a hike to watch the sunset. Superstition Mountains or South Mountain are my favorite.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First I want to express gratitude to anyone who has made a purchase from me over the years. I’m so grateful for My family and their endless support. My mentor Kathy Cano-Murillo for all the gold nuggets over the years. And last but not least, ET from Tres Leches Cafe who provided me with a space to market and sell my products under his roof, which motivated me to pursue my dream.
