Meet Alexis Fisher | Epoxy Creations & Jiu Jitsu Practitioner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Fisher and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexis, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When starting my own business, I wanted more than anything, freedom. There has been a generational shift, where people my age aren’t willing to work for the weekend their whole life. I wanted to be able to prioritize the important things in my life and priorities in my life change through the years so having the flexibility to make that shift was very valuable to me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Spending such a large amount of my life dedicated to Jiu Jitsu, I decided to create a clothing brand in 2020 for Jiu Jitsu. The brand name was Simply Ruthless and I recently closed the business to pursue Epoxy. I enjoy the artistic aspect of remodeling counters. Each one turns out entirely different. There are few people in the Arizona area who know how to epoxy countertops so it’s a unique method to remodel your kitchen or bathroom. With the price of everything increasing I’m proud to offer an affordable alternative to completely replacing countertops with expensive materials.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am an Arizona native and my favorite part of Arizona is the outdoors. The perfect itinerary would include first and foremost a cup of coffee. Press and Moxie are my two favorite Phoenix coffee shops. Then it would be straight to the outdoors! Hiking, paddle boarding, or shooting archery would be at the top of my list. Superstition Mountains, the Salt River, and Payson are some of my frequented locations. Ending the weekend with some great food is a must. Lost Burros, Andreoli, and Pita Valley are my top 3 favorite restaurants in the valley.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I contribute my success in different areas of my life with different people in my life. My boyfriend is a huge influence on my Jiu Jitsu success. I have been involved with martial arts for over 10 years and he is my teammate, partner, coach, and so much more. He has encouraged me, challenged me, and supported me in the moments I needed it the most. My parents are very encouraging and believe in everything I do. It’s a gift not everyone has. There are times when they can’t give anything other than their encouragement and it’s something can’t put a price on.
