Meet Emily Lopez | Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emily, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
Being kind is the legacy I would like to leave behind. To be an example to others in a positive light. To continue the kindness to others because we are all equal. I want people to remember how much I love supporting others.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Hello everyone I am Emily Lopez and I am a local content creator in Arizona. You can find me on Instagram @emmie__lo. I am half Filipino and half Khmu. I come from immigrant parents from two different countries. So my family is very culturally diverse. My mom is from Philippines and my dad is from Laos. Therefore I am trilingual. My mothers native tongue is visayan and my fathers native tongue is Khmu (a native tribe in Laos). I am very proud of my diverse background and I love representing it! Coming from such a diverse family I was raised to try variations of delicious food. My dad taught me not to be picky and try everything at least once! That is how my food and travel journey started. As a kid I’ve always dreamed of traveling the world to try new foods across the globe.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First off, there is so much to do here. The list is endless! But, if I had to start somewhere my first thing on the itinerary would be a Hot air balloon ride in the early morning to catch the beautiful sunrise Arizona has to offer. Then brunch at Sumomaya in Scottsdale for some bottomless mimosas. For lunch I would recommend checking out some local restaurants. Mostly southeast Asian spots like Glai Baan, Thai Food Corner, Angkor Donuts for some Cambodian style pho, Apsara Asian restaurant for some savory beef skewers with sticky rice. Arizona is also known for Mexican food so I would recommend some authentic tacos and Sonoran style hot dogs. For an evening out, I recommend a rooftop bar in Downtown Phoenix. Or checking out the local bars and walking around downtown to check out the bar scene and then definitively trying out another local restaurant in downtown.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my supportive family and the foodie community!
