We had the good fortune of connecting with Trinity Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trinity, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
As a 15 year old freshman starting a small business that expanded very quickly, it has been hard to manage life outside of working. I love working on expanding my business, bringing in clientele, and making money however it gets hard because of school. Some days I am very overwhelmed with the amount of school work I have. Starting freshman year, I had no clue how much I would have to study and stay on top of my work on a day-to-day basis. that has been the biggest change since starting. Now that I am more comfortable with school and working, I feel that the balance has become enjoyable because I know my limits.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Working on expanding my braiding business is tough, because there are so many other people wanting to expand themselves as well. One thing that sets me apart from them is I take time on my work, I interact with comments, and I work hard on posting content daily. One thing that I am most proud about is how far I’ve come in just eight months. I remember about four months ago I was begging for clients, begging my friends to let me do their hair, and begging for support. now, my bookings are always full with the most supportive people. How I’ve made it where I am now business wise is posting as much constant as I can. Even if my work was not the best i posted it because there is always someone out there who supports. Honestly, it was very easy for me to get where I am now and that is because of social media. Some lessons I’ve learned a long the way is not everyone is fit for you. Also, Not all money is good money. One thing I want people to know about me is I’m very grateful for all of the support that I receive.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite place to go is the mall. I also really love all of the trampoline parks Arizona has. Food wise I’m a very picky eater. As long as the restaurant has chicken strips and fries I’m down.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family has been my hugest support. My biggest supporters in my family have been my grandpa and my mom. My grandpa is huge on making sure I balance and save my money correctly. He also makes sure I’m safe when it comes to clientele and social media. whenever I need help with buying something he is always there. My mother also deserves a shoutout because she stands up for me with tough clients, gives me advice, and drives me to and from the hair store.
