We had the good fortune of connecting with Reagan Briggs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Reagan, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
To be quite blunt, there’s a part of me that laughs at this question as I never knew that giving up was an option. I was raised with a get-it-done mentality. I am sure that part of this has something to do with being Type A and having an overachiever mentality, but it’s working well for me. Don’t ever let “giving up” be an option on the table and see how life changes for the better. This doesn’t mean suck it up and hate what’s happening though — it means work to make changes that better your life. Keep going every single day.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Encore Mixology is Scottsdale’s premier mobile mixology company. We specialize in craft cocktails, unique mocktails, and health-conscious beverage options. Our services range from private + corporate event bartending to hands-on creation class and our all-day affair option, At Your Service with Encore Mixology! With an emphasis on making mixology inclusive to all, we are able to bring great fun & amazing flavor to our clients. I started Encore Mixology as I wanted to be part of the change to our hospitality industry as a whole and demand as a true destination city. After I toyed around with a few ideas and various business plans, I couldn’t get a mixology business out of my mind and here we are today! We successfully launched in August 2023 after many months of planning and hospitality-specific education/experience. Since then, we have taken up quite a bit of marketshare in the mobile bar business and are beyond grateful for our clients who entrust their most cherished events with us! While it hasn’t been an easy process, it’s been beyond rewarding to see everyone enjoy Encore’s curated mixed drinks & unparalleled service!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As someone who was raised in Arizona, I love sharing some of the best experiences the state has to offer! If you’re coming in from out of state, my favorite resort is the Fairmont Princess. Yes, it’s great during the holidays (Christmas At The Princess), but year-round it offers some of the greatest ambiance, service, and amenities. Friday night will be spent dancing at the Buffalo Chip as a nod to the Wild West that AZ is. Other fun activities we’ll be doing are a spa day at Well & Being, a pilates class at one of. my go-to locally owned studio, and some shopping at Kierland Commons. My favorite restaurants in Arizona are ones that a) have gluten free options and b) excel at them. The top of my culinary recommendations list are Postino, Parma, Zinburger, Mastro’s Ocean Club, and Carlos O’Briens (best fries in town!). For cocktails, it’s hard to beat the Jade Bar. Nothing beats a conversation over a delicious drink with a gorgeous view! Should you partake in mocktails instead, check out La Hacienda for some incredible refreshments. Arizona simply has it all. Oh, and don’t forget: we’re finishing this getaway with a Creation Class from Encore Mixology, of course!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As cliché as it is, my parents, Jack & Susan Briggs, have made me who I am today. They always pushed for me to decide my own future and to not rely on others to make it happen for me. They are definitely where my drive comes from. I would not of started a business, let alone 5 in total at this point in my life, without their unwavering support.

I also have to give a big shoutout to my Canadian parents, Terry & Cathy! Thank you for the poolside business meetings where we reviewed everything from logo inspiration to the actual business structure!

I am beyond grateful to have such incredible encouragement in my life. They drive me to be better every single day.
