We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Garst and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eric, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk taking is a huge and vital part in my life, both personally and professionally. In fact, I believe it is essential for all of us to deal with risk appropriately as it drives us towards our purpose and mission in life. This is not to say we all should just take on risk haphazardly, but how I think about risk is that it is ultimately necessary. For example, starting a business. Lots of potential risk. Lots of potential problems/stumbling blocks/challenges/late nights, etc. But if my purpose in life is to start a business that changes the lives of those it serves then that risk is necessary if I want to achieve my purpose. Risk pushes us to be continually striving to be the best version of ourselves and the rewards that come with taking certain risks always produce fruit both personally and professionally.

What should our readers know about your business?
We have two fantastic Chiropractic offices in the East Valley. I have attributed our growth to two factors: 1. we get patients amazing results with Chiropractic care and 2. We focus on prevention over reactionary care. We continue to be excited about the opportunity to change lives with Chiropractic care and we are going to continue growing to help more and more people.
Business in general is never easy. But with consistency of purpose and the right team around you, you can overcome any obstacle. One of the greatest lessons I have learning through growing multiple businesses is that you can not solely rely on yourself. Trust the capability and special gifts of others, integrate them into your team, your vision, and watch them grow and do immeasurably more than you probably could. As business owners, we feel we can do things better than others (say employees)
which makes us slaves to our work/job and ultimately that is not true. Utilizing other people will get you farther faster and with better results than if you try and do all the work yourself. Invest in people!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would get out of the City! We would take a drive up to Cottonwood, through Sedona and up to Flagstaff. Hitting sights like Slide Rock state park, Devils Bridge, and Bell Rock. Lots of hiking and mountain biking during our stay, enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Next we would make the trip up to the Grand Canyon, do some more hiking before heading back down through Strawberry, Pine, and Payson. The trip would finish by connecting near Saguaro Lake and potentially tubing the Salt River before returning home. Food, there has to be food! We would try places we have never been before and they would probably be spur of the moment decisions.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My success all stems back to my childhood and has several key factors that have helped shape my story. My younger brother, Bryce, was diagnosed with a brain tumor at a young age and through his battle I saw first hand what cancer can do to a family. Thankfully through my parents being dedicated to the health of both Bryce and I, I learned the values of putting God first, family second, and myself third. Bryce’s story really helped shape my character of wanting to change the health of my world and I continue to live that out to this day. If I had to shoutout just one person it would be Bryce.
