Meet Caitlin Nicole | Arizona Hair and Makeup Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Caitlin Nicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caitlin, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
As a prior pageant titleholder, I value community service greatly and knew when I started Caitlin Nicole Makeup that I wanted to have a greater impact than just providing hair and makeup services. I’ve been able to align myself with numerous nonprofits throughout Arizona, most recently with Maggie’s Place where I was able to teach some of their program graduates (women who were experiencing homelessness) how to do their makeup for interviews and while on the job to elevate their professional appearance. I also truly believe in the importance of celebrating my clients’ beauty when they come sit in my chair. Once upon a time, I was a young lady who lacked self esteem and loved to play with makeup because it gave me something to hide behind – I now am able to use my talents to enhance others’ beauty and help them on their path to self-love and increasing their confidence.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I work so hard to not just be the makeup artist you hire who comes in the day of for your event, leaves, and you never talk to them again. I believe in fostering authentic relationships with my clients and get genuinely excited every day I have clients because I get to build those connections. Many of my clients are repeat clients whom I get to share some of the most special moments of their life with, from being a bride to becoming a mom and everything after and in between – it truly fuels my fire and sets me apart from others in the industry. I’m extremely proud that I’ve been able to expand my business into the pageant community and am now the proud sponsor for the Miss Valley of the Sun organization and Miss Arizona High School America Pageant, where I am able to teach these amazing young women how to elevate their makeup looks while on the pageant stage or whilst appearing in the community during their community service endeavors. I’ve learned so much along this journey, and absolutely am still learning, but truly believe that if you have a passion for something and are willing to fight to make it happen – that it will.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a huge foodie! So lots of local restaurants for sure. Mon Cheri in Old Town Scottsdale is a new fave of mine and absolutely perfect for a very pink and frilly brunch with yummy drinks. I’m also obsessed with Steak 44 and Maple and Ash, all my friends know it’s where we go for any special occasions, so definitely to one of those (maple and ash also has an amazing brunch!!). In Arizona, it’s so imperative to try and beat the heat, so if we’re looking for something not poolside I love to hit the movies and visit Majestic Theatres. But, if we’re looking for a poolside spa-day, the Omni Montelucia is one of my must-dos.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A huge shoutout to my amazing family and friends. As someone who has an entrepreneurial mind and a little bit too much ambition and passion sometimes, they’ve always supported my dreams (no matter how big) and uplift me while I work to make those dreams come to fruition.
