We had the good fortune of connecting with Jimmy Gialelis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jimmy, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Remain true to yourself and your values. Many people have offered advice to make major changes in myself and presentation. In the end, small changes that still honored the major facets of my business proved a more successful strategy.
Ensuring my life choices reflect my values facilitates success. Remaining aligned in mind-body-spirit allows me to maintain success over the long run.

What should our readers know about your business?
Our business is primarily a continuing education company serving massage therapists. There are classes open to non-therapists as well. We present energy-themed courses such as Reiki and clinical based courses such as Oncology Massage.
One major lesson I present is a health practitioner never needs to be pigeon-holed into being “either energy or therapeutic” as a therapist. The most adept therapists combine the healing precepts of holistic care with allopathic themed. It is possible for a massage therapist to be skilled with both intuitive touch and anatomical knowledge.
“All massage (even deep tissue) is energy work” is a phrase I often say. In my classes, we integrate complimentary approaches.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I highly recommend seeing the lovely nature that Arizona has to offer. There are plenty of urban shopping oases to enjoy, however, beyond normal urban fun, one can venture 45 minutes in any direction to see lovely natural desert scenery. Ghost towns near Apache Junction can bring one back one hundred years to a charming time of desert saloons. Rural agriculture lands abound with cotton and corn aplenty. Waterfalls, flourishing forests, majestic mesas and rolling red rocks scatter the state as one takes time to explore the largely protected land. Indigenous people preserve their heritages while offering wisdom of healing and attunement to spirit. Arizona is a wonderland of all of Earth’s natural blessings bestowed us.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely need to express gratitude to fellow peers, instructors and therapists while working at Utah College of Massage Therapy / Arizona School of Massage Therapy early in my career. Their willingness to assist and guide me provided a roadmap to success both in the treatment room and classroom.
