We had the good fortune of connecting with Yesenia Aranda Roman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yesenia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Nails has always been a form of expression for me. Going to get my nails done was a ritual, a self care of some sort & after being stuck in a pandemic I found myself wanting to express myself & reconnect with others. So I decided to launch myself into the beauty industry, an industry that focuses on uplifting women and making them feel empowered. Specifically through nails/nail art I’ve been able to create a space where beauty & individuality meet through every design.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My goal when starting my nail business was always to find a way to bring my clients artistic vision to life. It’s always been really important to me to be able to provide a range of nail art to my portfolio. From a simple set to a versatile, colorful, 3D nail art set I’m able to personalize every set to every client. Im proud to say that I’ve been able to achieve this goal by investing in myself, my nail education, good products & always taking time to practice. Starting a business hasn’t been easy in the slightest considering I’m a first time business owner and don’t have any guidance from inner circles. Im very grateful to have the support around me that I do because I’ve been able to navigate it all patiently. Lessons I’ve learned along the way is that nothing good comes easy and I’m happy to say I came into this knowing it would take me time but I was ready. Im 3 years into my business and the time just flew by.. time will always pass but what matters is what you do with it. I can’t wait to see all my visions come to life and to continue reaping the fruits of my labor.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start each day with an easy, sunrise morning hike at hole in the rock, take a walk around Papago park & admire the stunning desert landscape that makes Arizona captivating. Then we would make our way to Deseo coffee shack where i’d recommend the Abuelita Mocha & head to Fame or Otro cafe for breakfast! Afterwards I would take them to Grand ave or Roosevelt Row where we’d enjoy immersive wall art, local shops and end each day at Valentine sharing a plate of elote pasta.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would personally love to shoutout my family & friends. The unwavering support and encouragement they’ve given me throughout this has been more than I could’ve ever dreamed of. A special, sweet shoutout to my partner who has been my rock throughout this journey. His patience, emotional support & belief in my vision has been instrumental in achieving milestones that I couldn’t have even thought possible only 3 years into my business.
But most importantly, shout out to all the business owners and creatives. People who believed in themselves when no one else did.
