Meet Tabitha Endicott | VP of Finance

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tabitha Endicott and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tabitha, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk: a situation involving exposure to danger
I don’t want to be afraid of anything, and I’d love to say that I am not. I do tend to stand firm in front of things that are scary or uncomfortable and make them move, but fear has become familiar territory as I’ve aged – I hate it! I’ve jumped out of a plane, moved across the country with kids in tow, visited or lived on four, soon to be five continents! I don’t believe great things happen by accident, and I don’t plan to wait on them. We were created to be movers and shakers in this life, and I like to shake up my world. My children and I have seen our nation’s capital, traveled from coast to coast and swam in waters on all sides of this country! We all take risks everyday, some move into risk with great concern, and some move with passion and steam – that’s who I want to be! They don’t call it bravery if there is nothing to overcome, in order to push through the risk and danger, one has to keep moving, and I haven’t stopped yet! I believe risk is inevitable and necessary for growth; we can not let it stand in our way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an advocate for education. I strongly believe that knowledge enhances our opportunities – the more we know, the more we are able to challenge ourselves and the perceptions that surrounds us in this life. I began my career as an education major with a mathematics specialization. I graduated Cum Laude from SHSU in Texas and worked in elementary education for 15 years. I was good, and I enjoyed it! Life changes though, and so must we. A career in the trades opened up for me after some major life circumstances seemed to want to break me down. Utilizing my background in mathematics, and beginning a new career in the electrical industry, finance and function began to bond together into a powerful new web of stability and growth! I am most proud of the potential I have found in myself; in my ability to adapt and mature through each and every obstacle that comes my way. With that growth I have also learned to stand firm in the knowledge that’s always been there. By fusing new understandinng with the scaffolding of previous education and circumstances, we become…aged. As with a fine wine, we start to combine and build tighter bonds; we become smoother and stronger, more rounded out with the best parts of life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I LOVE THE MOUNTAINS!!!
Hiking and exploring have become my joy. I love to visit the national monuments in Arizona with my kids; we have been to the Organ Pipe Cactus monument, we’ve seen the petroglyphs down on Interstate 8, and we’ve visited both Tuzigoot and Montezuma’s Castle monuments. The western rim of the Grand Canyon’s Skywalk owned by the Haulapai tribe is epic, and so is the London Bridge and Lake Havasu! The Superstition Mountains are a must-see; and into the Tonto National Forest we go! I have only lived in Phoenix for two years, but I”ve tried to see as much of this beautiful state as possible already. We have found our favorite little movie theater that shows old Disney movies here in Tempe, and last summer we went through Star Wars episodes 4-6 on the big screen, it’s our definite go-to spot. We love finding new Boba places, Boba Cutea is our favorite so far!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to offer a shout out to a previous pastor of mine, Steve Rawl. He and his wife, Jenny, have been instrumental in my growth as a person and most specifically in my relationships with others. After a life changing upheaval, he offered sound advice, taught me some beneficial exercises, and recommended books that would encourage and strengthen me in ways that would forever change my relationships with others, and myself. Thanks to his support, patience and wisdom, I have been able to work through some serious bitterness and learn to rest. These lessons have I carried with me for over twenty years now; he is still a valued friend and mentor.
