We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Figueroa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liz, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
One thing many people are unaware of when it comes to this industry, is that it is ever changing and constantly evolving. we as estheticians have to continue to expand our knowledge and learn all the new things to make sure we are evolving as professionals as well and doing our research to make sure we provide the best services to our clients. Not because it’s the “newest” or “trendy” thing but because we want to give our clients the best most effective treatments.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am most proud of putting myself out there everyday and learning to trust and believe in myself. I am still not where I would like to be in my practice but I am definitely not giving up. The hardest part about it is probably trying to juggle work/life. Most days it feels like there is no balance and there are a lot of sacrifices that come with the job. Some lessons I have learned along the way are that not everyone is going to clap for you but never stop rooting for yourself!
I want the world to know that I was once a little mexican born girl that never could have imagined she’d one day own a small business in a country she wasn’t born in and that if I do something, I do it with my whole heart and all of the passion in the world! My spa will always be a safe place for you and I can’t wait to guide you and help you achieve the skin of your dreams!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them anywhere in uptown or downtown Phx. In my opinion, there is no place with the vibes/food that uptown/downtown phx provides. I’d take them to brunch at presidio (central phx). For dinner we would visit hula’s (uptown) or the parlor pizzeria. I don’t drink anymore but if they asked me where my favorite places to drink were when I did, I’d say blanco or OHSO brewery. We would finish off the night with some live music at Copper Blues in Downtown. I think the most beautiful thing about Arizona would have to be our sunsets. The most exciting part about living here is how fast the city is evolving. There’s always a new and exciting place to try!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My purpose and my reason to do what I do are my kids and my husband. Nothing would be possible without them in my life. They are my joy, my peace and my everything.
